Fears for the lives of civilians after the regime forces advanced in the southwestern pocket of the Eastern Ghouta under heavy fire cover

Rif Dimashq province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: the regime forces backed by their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities under the command of Russian officers and advisers continue their military operations in the southwestern area of the Eastern Ghouta, where the SOHR monitored the regime forces managed to advance and completely control the whole town of Kafrbatna and Saqba city located north of Kafrbatna, reducing the areas controlled by Al-Rahman Corps in the southwestern pocket of the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, which is controlled by Al-Rahman Corps, and expanding the regime’s areas of control to more than 82% of the areas controlled by the factions in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the clashes are accompanied by ongoing aerial and ground shelling by the regime forces, targeting areas controlled by Al-Rahman Corps, causing more damage to the building and infrastructure, while there is fear for the lives of those civilians still exist in the pocket controlled by Al-Rahman Corps from the heavy shelling targeting this pocket.

This advancement of the regime forces in the Eastern Ghouta and areas controlled by Al-Rahman Corps has reduced the Corps-held areas through besieging the Corps in 4 towns and cities remained under its control in the southwestern part of the Eastern Ghouta, while a violent explosion rocked the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, resulted from bombing targeting the regime forces there, while Jaysh Al-Islam still controls Douma city in the Ghouta, while Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic Movement controls Harasta city.
