The massacre of the shelter in Ghouta claims the lives of 20 children and citizen women and the death of more citizens raises the death toll to about 1475 civilian casualties including about 490 children and citizen women since the escalation started

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the number of civilian casualties is increasing, with the death of more citizens affected by the injury they had, and as a result of the renewed shelling on areas in it, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from a number of reliable sources, that it rose to 20 persons (16 children and 4 citizen women), the number of people killed in the massacre carried out by warplanes believed to be Russian by targeting a shelter under a Dar Al-Salam School, in the evening of yesterday the 19th of March 2018, and the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of tens of injuries, some of them have seriously wounded.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also documented the death of 8 citizens yesterday in Arbin city as a result of the bombardment which targeted the city, and in the same context, 3 citizens including 2 children were killed and 30 others were injured with varying severity, as a result of the bombardment by warplanes on areas in Arbin city, while 3 citizens were killed in the bombardment by warplanes on areas in Ein Tarma town, while areas in Douma city subjected to bombardment which targeted areas in it, which resulted in the death of a citizen and the fall of wounded, while the violent clashes are continuing between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against Al-Rahman Corps, in areas in the south of Ein Tarma town, where the clashes are concentrated in the area of Ein Tarma Valley, where the regime forces managed to advance into the area and take the control of parts of it, while the clashes are continuing between the both parties in the vicinity of Arbin city from the side of Madyara town, in conjunction with clashes between Tahrir Al-Sham and Al-Rahman Corps against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, in areas in Kafr Batna town from the side of Hazza, amid intensive airstrikes which targeted Ein Tarma town and Zamalka city and bombardment by explosive barrels on areas in Douma city.

Thus, it rose to 1473, the number of the Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 301 children and 185 women, who have been killed since the 18th of February 2018, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, resulted in the injury of more than 5330 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 941 casualties including 160 children and 102 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries.
