The death toll resulted from the heavy shelling on Douma city is still increasing and the civilians martyrs increased to about 1520 since the beginning of escalation in the Eastern Ghouta

Rif Dimashq province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: the death toll of civilian martyrs in the Eastern Ghouta is still increasing because more people are dying affected by injuries they had and due to the recovery of dead bodies from under the rubble caused by the ongoing aerial shelling on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, where it has increased to 61 people, including 14 children and 10 women, the number of martyrs who were killed in aerial shelling in less than 48 hours on Douma city, which is controlled by Jaysh Al-Islam, and th martyrs are 29 civilians who were killed in aerial shelling on the city of Douma, and 34 civilians who were killed in shelling on Monday on the same city, which is the main stronghold of Jaysh Al-Islam, while 12 dead bodies of people killed in aerial shelling on the city and its vicinity remained unidentified, while the death toll is expected to increase due to the presence of several injured in serious conditions and the presence of people missing.

Thus, it rose to 1517, the number of the Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 311 children and 191 women, who have been killed since the 18th of February 2018, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, resulted in the injury of more than 5370 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 985 casualties including 170 children and 108 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries.
