After protests of civilians and mobilization of the regime, another shelling targets Jaysh Al-Islam controlled area in the Eastern Ghouta in less than 36 hours

Rif Dimashq province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: sounds of explosions were heard in the enclave controlled by Jaysh Al-Islam (Douma city), where reliable sources to the SOHR that resulted from artillery and rocket shelling on the area by the regime forces, causing material damage, and no information about causalities. This is the second shelling in the past 36 hours, after the regime forces and their allies were mobilizing their forces in the vicinity of Douma area, which is controlled by Jaysh Al-Islam and the last enclave of its fighters in the Eastern Ghouta, after Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic movement left Harasta city, and the operation which is still continuing to transfer thousands of the fighters with their families and citizens of who reject the agreement to the Syrian North, and this mobilization comes in an attempt to exert a pressure on Jaysh Al-Islam to complete the negotiations with the Russians and reach a final agreement, based on terms most important of which are the entry of the Russian military police to Douma and the return of the regime’s institutions to work in it, the departure of those who reject the agreement towards the Eastern Qalamoun, the release of thousands of captives and prisoners and the evacuation of thousands of wounded to receive treatment.

The Syrian observatory published that it rose to 1644, the number of the Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 344 children and 213 women, who have been killed since the 18th of February 2018, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, resulted in the injury of more than 5420 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 1112 casualties including 203 children and 130 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries.
