More than 180 citizens, fighters and members were killed in the first week of violent clashes and intensive shelling in the southern neighborhoods of the capital Damascus

Damascus Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the violent explosions are still rocking the southern part of the capital Damascus, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored since today morning, Wednesday the 25th of April 2018, that the warplanes carried out successive raids targeting areas in Yarmouk Camp, Al-Hajar al-Aswad and other areas in the south of Damascus, amid artillery and rocket shelling by the regime forces on the same areas, while the aerial and artillery shelling is coincided with violent clashes between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the “Islamic State” organization, in the outskirts and vicinity of Al-Tadamon, Yarmouk Camp, Al-Kadam and Al-Hajar al-Aswad, amid intensive targeting on the contact areas between the both parties, while the clashes are continuing in the vicinity of the enclave controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, at the northern outskirts of Yarmouk Camp, between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, and the regime forces are seeking to achieve further advancement and control more areas to reach the depth of the organization’s controlled areas, and separate them from the factions’ controlled areas in the southern countryside of the capital Damascus.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented during the first week of the military operations in the south of Damascus, the death of tens of people who were killed in the south of Damascus, where it has increased to 19 at least, the number of people who have been killed since Thursday the 19th of April 2018, in Yarmouk Camp and the south of the capital Damascus, including a man, his wife and their child, 3 other citizen women, an old man and an ambulance driver, while the number of casualties in the ranks of the conflicting parties has increased, where it rose to 61at least, the number of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, who were killed in 7 days of clashes, including a number of officers, while it has increased to 49, the number of members of the organization who were killed in the same period, as a result of the shelling, clashes and targeting that left tens of wounded in the ranks of the both parties, and the death toll is expected to rise because of the continued combat operations and the presence of injured cases in critical situation, while the clashes in the other front resulted in the fall of more human losses in the area of the enclave controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, where it has increased to at least 15, the number of the casualties of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, while t has increased to 17, the number of members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham who were killed in these clashes, the SOHR also documented the death of 10 fighters who were killed in as a result of bombardment by helicopters by explosive barrels on an area in the outskirts of the southern Rif Dimashq at the contact lines with the south of the capital Damascus, including commanders in Jaysh al-Islam which operates in the area, also the shelling injured several people including commanders in Jaysh al-Islam, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, while the SOHR documented the death of 10 persons at least including 3 children as a result of the fall of shells on areas in Al-Zahira, Nahr Eshe and other areas in the vicinity of the capital Damascus.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored the regime forces bringing more military reinforcements to the southern section of the capital Damascus, in conjunction with the continuation of military operations in the area, where the Syrian Observatory monitored the arrival of reinforcements from the Eastern Qalamoun, which witnessed the displacement of thousands of fighters, their families and civilians, and during the agreement large quantities of weapons, armored vehicles, tanks, ammunition, missiles and vehicles were handed over to the regime forces and the Russians, where reinforcements arrived in an attempt by the regime forces to expand the scale of attack on the Organization and Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, where the regime forces has been carrying out operations in several areas in al-Hajar al-Aswad, al-Kadam, al-Tadamon and Yarmouk camp, after they managed to advancement in the north, south and northwest of the “Islamic State” organization’s controlled areas.
