The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

At least 42 members of the regime forces and their allies were killed in the past 72 hours during clashes against the organization which lost about 30 of its members

Damascus Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: several explosions were heard in the vicinity of the south of the capital Damascus, caused by the fall of shells on areas in Al-Tadamon and Al-Zahira neighborhoods, which caused material damage, without information about casualties, while the violent clashes are continuing between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in Al-Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood and in the vicinity and outskirts of Yarmouk Camp and Al-Tadamon, amid intensive exchange of targeting in the clash areas, and the clashes are coincided with ongoing shelling by the regime forces by artillery and rocket shells and missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, also the warplanes carried out raids which targeted ISIS controlled areas, while the regime forces managed to achieve advancement in positions and buildings in the outskirts of Yarmouk Camp and inside Al-Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood, amid continuous attempts since the 19th of April 2018, to force the organization to return to the previous agreement reached between the organization and representatives of the regime.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored in less than 27 hours, the fall of a large number of human losses in the ranks of the regime forces and their allies and of the members of the organization, in the southern part of the capital Damascus, where the SOHR documented the death of 42 members at least of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, and it also documented in the same period, the death of 29 members at least of the organization, raising to 162 at least, the number of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, who were killed since Thursday the 19th of April 2018, including 20 officers and 6 of them were executed, while it has increased to 131, the number of members of the organization who were killed in the same period as a result of the shelling, clashes and targeting.

And the Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the number of civilian casualties is continuing to increase in the south of Damascus, in conjunction with the increased death toll since the start of the military operation of the regime forces with their allies, against the organization’s controlled areas in the southern part of the capital Damascus, where it has increased to 11 persons at last including 5 children, the number of people who were killed in the massacre that took place in the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk by the warplanes, last night, Saturday the 5th of May 2018, raising to 47 at least including 13 children and 6 women, the number of casualties who were killed in the shelling by the regime forces by artillery and rocket shells missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, and the bombardment by warplanes and helicopters by missiles, bombs and explosive barrels, while the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of tens of injuries and missing people, where a number of injuries have seriously wounded and others are in critical situations, while the fate of many of the missing people is still unknown, weather they have died or are still alive, where the citizens and rescuers try when the pace of shelling decreases, to extract stuck people or bodies from the rubble of destruction caused by the shelling on Yarmouk Camp and the rest controlled areas of the organization.
