The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

More human losses raise to 100, the number of casualties in the ranks of the regime and its allies in few days of attrition by the organization in the south of Damascus

Damascus Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: areas in the southern neighborhoods of the capital Damascus, witnessed renewed shelling accompanying the military operation of the regime forces and their allies against the organization, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; the clashes are still continuing in the outskirts and vicinity of Yarmouk Camp as well as the neighborhoods of Al-Hajar al-Aswad and Al-Tadamon, in the southern part of the capital Damascus, as a result of exchange of attacks between the both parties, in an attempt by each party to achieve advancement at the expense of the other, and the regime forces managed to achieve further advancement in Al-Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood and take the control of buildings and positions used to be controlled by the organization, while the warplanes and helicopters renewed their raids targeting ISIS controlled areas in the south of the capital Damascus, amid artillery and rocket shelling by the regime forces on the same areas, along with exchange of targeting on the clash areas between the both parties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also documented during these attrition battles, the death of 98 members at least of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities and members of the Palestinian Liwa al-Quds, including 10 officers, and 3 captives of the regime forces and their allies who were executed by shooting them, and the SOHR also documented in the same period, the death of 66 members at least of the organization, raising to 215 at least, the number of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, who have been killed since Thursday the 19th of April 2018, including 26 officers and 9 of them were executed, while it has increased to 168, the number of members of the organization who were killed in the shelling, clashes and targeting that left tens of wounded in the ranks of the both parties, and the death toll is expected to rise because of the continued combat operations and the presence of injured cases in critical situation.
