76 members of the regime and their Syrian and non-Syrian allies were killed in 5 days, raising their death toll to more than 1000 in 75 days

The “Islamic State” groups in Deir Ezzor Desert located to the west of the Euphrates River in the eastern countryside of the province; continue to carrying out their operations against their opponents of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the “Islamic State” organization during the past 24 hours carting out 2 attacks in al-Mayadin Desert and al-Bokamal Desert in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, trying to inflict as many casualties as possible in the ranks of the regime forces and their allies of Syrians and non-Syrians, and trying to disperse them and disrupt their ranks in the front lines in the vicinity of the towns and villages scattered along the west banks of Euphrates River in the countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The violent clashes were accompanied by exchange of targeting between both parties in the clash areas, which caused casualties in the ranks of both parties, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented since Saturday evening the 26th of May 2018; the death of at least 11 pro-regime gunmen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, also more than 7 ISIS members were killed in the same attacks that targeted the regime forces and their allies in al-Bokamal and al-Mayadin Deserts, and the clashes caused injuries in the ranks of both parties, some of them are still in serious condition, and the Syrian Observatory published on Friday, the 25th of May 2018 that it rose to 1006, the number of deaths of both parties who have been documented by the Syrian Observatory, in the provinces of Damascus, Deir Ezzor and Homs, where it rose to 610, the number of members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them who were killed in 2 months of clashes in al-Bokamal Desert, the countryside of Deir Ezzor, south of the capital Damascus and the eastern outskirts of Homs, where 2 thirds of them were killed in the south of Damascus, also it rose to 396 at least, the number of members of the “Islamic State” organization who were killed in the same battles, since the recovery of the Organization in the 13th of March 2018, also tens of others of both parties were killed and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, in addition to the presence of missing members and captives in the ranks of the both parties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the killing of tens of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities in 75 days, where at least 76 of their members have been killed –including 9 Russian soldiers– during confrontations and clashes; accompanied by a ISIS members detonating themselves with explosive belts and booby-trapped vehicles in the fight locations, in addition to capturing and injuring tens of other members, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the killing of at least 25 members of the organization during these attacks which were carried out suddenly in the countryside of Homs and the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has been monitoring since the 13th of March 2018, the start of attacks by the “Islamic State” Organization, which were started by an attack in the capital Damascus, and enabled it to expand in al-Kadam neighbourhood in the southern part of the capital, followed by attacks targeted the 2nd Station, which was also controlled by the Organization south of al-Bokamal, and other attacks in Hmimeh area and al-Mayadin Desert, amid targeting sites of the regime forces and their allies west of Euphrates river in the eastern and southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, also these successive attacks have caused significant casualties in the ranks of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, and as well as the ranks of members of the “Islamic State” Organization, also this violent attack of ISIS comes weeks after the control of the organization declined in the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, within the towns of Abu Al-Hassan, al-Sha’afa, Al-Baghouz, Al-Bobdara, and its districts, following the entire end of its presence in the western banks of the Euphrates River, where the SDF managed to control most of the east of the Euphrates except for the aforementioned enclave, where reliable sources confirmed to the SOHR that the organization organized its ranks in the recent stage in order to attempt to expand the organization’s controlled areas at the expense of its rivals in its areas of presence.
