The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

The organization starts its heaviest attack on al-Bokamal in which Qasim Soleimani led its battles of control and closes the road of Tehran – Beirut killing and injuring tens of fighters

Al-Bokamal area in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor at the west Bank of Euphrates River, is witnessing a continuous attack by the “Islamic State” organization, intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that this attack by the “Islamic State” organization since the dawn of today, the 8th of June 2018, on sites of the regime forces and their allies of the Iranian Forces, the Lebanese Hezbollah, and their loyal gunmen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, is considered the most violent attack since the organization’s loss of the city, and the regime and its allies were able back then to connect the ground road of Tehran – Beirut, where the Syrian Observatory monitored the continuation of violent clashes between both parties, accompanied by the sound of at least 10 violent explosions on the outskirts of al-Bokamal city and its vicinity, caused by detonation of 6 members of the organization for themselves using explosive belts and the other 4 detonated themselves in booby-trapped vehicles, where they targeted sites of the regime forces and their allies killing and injuring more of them, while the Russian warplanes are still not participating in blocking ISIS attacks on Iranian sites and the sites of regime forces in the city, its outskirts and suburbs.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documenting since the dawn of today, the 8th of June 2018, the killing of at least 18 members of the organization including the 10 who blew themselves up with booby-trapped vehicles and explosive belts, while at least 25 member of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them were killed, they are: 12 of the Syrians and the Syrian militiamen loyal to Iran and 5 of the Iraqi militiamen, while the rest of them are of the Iranian Forces and their Asian militias, also tens of both parties were injured, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, and due to the continuation of the violent clashes between both parties, accompanied by intense exchange of targeting on the clash areas.

This attack is considered the most violent one since the organization lost its presence in al-Bokamal city and the west banks of Euphrates River in early December 2017, after a violent attack back then by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of the Lebanese Hezbollah, the Iranian forces, and their loyal gunmen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, with aerial and ground Russian support, and led by the eminent Iranian General and the commander of the Iranian al-Quds Legion and they were able back then to open the road of Tehran – Beirut.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the fact that the Russian warplanes have not been intensively involved in supporting the regime forces and pushing the attack of the organization on the area, and the attacks which have completed 48 hours, resulted in the fall of a large number of casualties in the ranks of the both parties, where the number of casualties in the ranks of the regime forces and their allies, rose to 55 at least including 3 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah, and 6 Iranian members, while it rose to at least 31, the number of members of the organization who were killed in the shelling and exchange of targeting the western banks of Euphrates River and the administrative border between the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor and the eastern countryside of Homs.

And with the fall of more casualties, it rose to 1233, the number of deaths of both parties who have been documented by the Syrian Observatory, in the provinces of Damascus, Deir Ezzor and Homs, where it rose to 748, the number of members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them who were killed in 2 months of clashes in al-Bokamal Desert, the countryside of Deir Ezzor, south of the capital Damascus and the eastern outskirts of Homs, where 2 thirds of them were killed in the south of Damascus, also it rose to 485 at least, the number of members of the “Islamic State” organization who were killed in the same battles, since the recovery of the Organization in the 13th of March 2018, also tens of others of both parties were killed and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, in addition to the presence of missing members and captives in the ranks of the both parties, and among the total number of casualties the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of at least 218 members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, 2 of them were executed and 9 of them are of the Russian Forces, during clashes and confrontations accompanied by detonating members of the “Islamic State” organization for themselves suing booby trapped vehicle and explosive belts in the clash sites, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 114 members of the organization in these clashes, which have been carried out out-of-a-sudden in the eastern countryside of Homs and Deir Ezzor since the 22nd of May 2018 until today.
