The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

ISIS continues its offensive against the regime and the Iranians on the road of Tehran – Beirut and raises the death toll to 41 at least of the regime forces and allies in 48 hours

Deir Ezzor province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the “Islamic State” organization continues its battles against the regime forces, the Iranian forces, and the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, in al-Bokamal city and its surroundings at the west banks of Euphrates River; in the eastern countryside of the Deir Ezzor near the Syrian-Iraqi border, where the “Islamic State” organization has been intensifying its attacks since the dawn of today, Friday the 8th of June 2018, until now, trying to control the city and achieve more advancement at the expense of the regime forces and their allies in al-Bokamal city, which is located on the most important road for the Iranian forces; the ground road of Tehran – Beirut, of which the commander of al-Quds Legion and the prominent Iranian General, Qasim Soleimani, had led in late 2017 the battles of its opening.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of violent clashes between the regime forces and the gunmen loyal to them and the Iranian forces and the militias loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, against members of the “Islamic State” organization west of al-Bokamal city and other areas on its outskirts adjacent to the Euphrates River and its southern outskirts, amid exchange of targeting of artillery and rocket shells, in conjunction with more detonation of members for themselves using explosive belts, while the regime’s reinforcement which it brought have not succeeded in recovering control of al-Bokamal until now, and ending the organization attack which caused more casualties in the ranks of both parties, where it rose to at least 41 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, they are 27 Syrians and Syrian militias loyal to Iran Including a high-ranking military commander at the regime forces, and at least one leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah, 5 of the Iraqi militias, and the rest of them are of Iran and its Asian militias, also it rose to 23 ISIS members at least, including 10 who detonated themselves up with booby-trapped vehicles and explosive belts, of who were documented by the Syrian Observatory until now during the shelling, clashes and bombings.

Which in turn raises to 239, the number of members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, 2 of them were executed and 9 of them are of the Russian Forces, during clashes and confrontations accompanied by detonating members of the “Islamic State” organization for themselves suing booby trapped vehicle and explosive belts in the clash sites, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 129 members of the organization in these clashes, which have been carried out out-of-a-sudden in the eastern countryside of Homs and Deir Ezzor since the 22nd of May 2018 until today, these casualties are among the 1270 people of both parties who have been documented by the Syrian Observatory, in the provinces of Damascus, Deir Ezzor and Homs, where it rose to 769, the number of members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them who were killed in clashes in al-Bokamal Desert, the countryside of Deir Ezzor, south of the capital Damascus and the eastern outskirts of Homs, also it rose to 501 at least, the number of members of the “Islamic State” organization who were killed in the same battles, since the recovery of the Organization in the 13th of March 2018, also tens of others of both parties were killed and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, in addition to the presence of missing members and captives in the ranks of the both parties.

The Syrian Observatory monitored at night of the 5th of June 2018, that the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, managed to restore most of positions which they had lost for members the “Islamic State” organization during its violent attack which targeted a front of about 100 km along the west banks of Euphrates River, from the west of Al-Bokamal to the east of Al-Mayadin, where the regime forces managed to attack again which forced the organization to leave its positions and withdraw to the Desert, in order to prevent the fall of large number of human losses in its ranks, and to be able to re-attack in the next days, where the organization aims through these repeated attacks, to confuse the regime, and to strain it and to inflict the largest possible number of casualties in the ranks of the regime and its allies of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the fact that the Russian warplanes have not been intensively involved in supporting the regime forces and pushing the attack of the organization on the area, and the attacks which have completed 48 hours, resulted in the fall of a large number of casualties in the ranks of the both parties.
