The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

Despite its continued advancement, the regime forces with their allies fail to regain control of the entire province of al-Suwaidaa and expel ISIS from it

Al-Suwaidaa Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the northeastern desert of al-Suwaidaa in the Syrian south is witnessing the continuation of military operations by the regime forces and their allies in the area, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored the decline in frequency of clashes between the regime Forces supported by gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of the “Islamic State” organization, where the decline in violence of the combat operations in the northeastern sector of al-Suwaidaa province; came as a result of the failure of the regime forces and their allies in regaining control of the sites and areas to which the “Islamic State” organization has advanced more than a week ago, although the regime forces managed to achieve advancement in the area and controlled several villages, hills and locations, but they could not expel the organization from the province towards the Syrian desert.

These clashes between the regime forces and the Syrian and non-Syrians gunmen loyal to them are taking place near areas controlled by the Coalition, about 50 km away from the International Coalition Forces’ controlled area in al-Tanf, which is between the deserts of Rif Dimashq and Homs, where the Syrian Observatory published a few days ago that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of violent clashes between the regime forces supported by the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, against members of the “Islamic State” Organization in areas in the northeastern Desert to al-Suwaidaa province south of Syria, where the Syrian Observatory monitored the regime forces continue their offensive in the area against Organization, and controlling more places and sites they lost in the areas of Telal al-Safa and the nearby gatherings and villages, and the clashes coincide with exchange of targeting and intense shelling by the regime forces, within their quest to end the Organization’s presence in the area.

The Syrian Observatory published yesterday, Tuesday, that reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the regime forces are continuing with their allies of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, to bring military reinforcements to the Syrian Desert, where the regime forces brought again tens of military vehicles carrying equipment, weapons and ammunition as well as hundreds of members of the regime forces and their allies of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, and the sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the bringing of these reinforcements comes in an attempt by the regime forces to fortify their positions and strengthen their presence in the Syrian Desert, for fear of a mass offensive that may be carried out by the “Islamic State” organization against them in the deserts of Homs and Deir Ezzor, in an attempt to expand its control over the enclaves that are under its control, and to revive its areas of control on the Syrian territory, in the wake of the attacks which are carried out either by the regime forces and their allies, or by the Syria Democratic Forces and the International Coalition through its American, Italian, French and European forces, where the organization which is located in the triangle of Al-Sukhnah – Jabal Abu Rajeem – Al-Tibah in the west of Palmyra – Al-Sukhnah – Deir Ezzor Road, is seeking to expand its control even more amid successive preparations carried out by the organization to expand the scope of its attacks.
