After the death of a doctor and 4 children in the fall of shells on the city, airstrikes target areas on the western outskirts of Aleppo city

Explosions shook this morning, the 14th of June 2018, the outskirts of Aleppo city, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that they were caused by raids by warplane on places in al-Leramoun area in the western outskirts of Aleppo city, which caused material damage but no information about injuries, this aerial bombardment on the city’s outskirts comes a few hours after targeting Aleppo city and the fall of casualties in it, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 5 persons they are: a doctor and 4 children under the age of eighteen, they were killed as a result of the fall of at least one shell on the area of Teshreen Street in the city, where this is the first fall of civilian casualties due to targeting Aleppo city by shells, since the 8th of March 2018, the date of the fall of the last civilian casualty in targeting Aleppo city by shells.

The today’s new targeting increases the number of shells which have targeted Aleppo city, since they started on the 4th of May 2018, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the fall of more than 218 shells on areas in Aleppo city, most of them fell on the western part of the city, which caused casualties and damaged the property of citizens, while the regime forces targeted by tens of artillery and rocket shells areas controlled by the regime forces on the western outskirts of Aleppo city, which also caused human losses and material damage, while this escalation comes in the wake of the failure to reach an agreement with the Iranians, regarding their withdrawal from Tal Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo, in exchange for the withdrawal of the factions from the triangle of west of Jesr al-Shughur – Latakia’s northern mountains – Sahl al-Ghab.
