After the salary disputes and the monuments and manuscripts of the Jewish synagogue, a commander in Rahman Corps leaves the Syrian territory and accusations against him of embezzling tens of thousands of US dollars

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from reliable sources who confirmed that a commander of a brigade of Rahman Corps, has left the Syrian territory towards Turkey during the past days, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the commander of the Brigade 101st –which is under the command of Rahman Corps– has left for Turkey after moving with Rahman Corps during the displacement process to the Syrian north, as a result of a disagreement with the leader of Rahman Corps about splitting large sums of money taken out with the Corps during its displacement to the Syrian north, and sources of the Syrian Observatory said that the commander left the Syrian territory secretly, and transported with him an amount of approximately 150000 US dollars from the allocations of Rahman Corps, and sources in the Eastern Ghouta said that the commander of the brigade was in charge of the raids the arrest that used to be carried out in the areas that were controlled by Rahman Corps in the Eastern Ghouta, where he was the head of a force of more than 1000 fighters, also, the Brigade was the mainstay in the clashes against Jaysh al-Islam and other factions in the Ghouta, the sources added that the overwhelming majority of the fighters of this Brigade have chosen to “settle their situations” with the regime and stayed in the Eastern Ghouta.

Earlier, a disagreement took place within the camp of Rahman Corps which it set up in Afrin area, in the northwestern sector of Aleppo countryside at the end of May 2018, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; a disagreement took place inside Al-Rahman Corps’ camp in the area of the Brigade 135 in Sharra Township in the north-eastern countryside of Afrin, started with a verbal argument between members of Al-Rhaman Corps and the Corps’ leadership which was located in the camp including the leader of Al-Rahman Corps -the dissident Captain Abdel Nasser Shammar, about accusations between the fighters of “selling the Eastern Ghouta, mistreat of the fighters who have been displaced from it to the Syrian North, handing over of the Eastern Ghouta, treason and non-payment of salaries to them by the leadership of Al-Rahman Corps”, which developed to a fight between the guards of Abdel Nasser Shammar and between a group called Abu Muhammed Al-Rastan’s Brigade, then the leadership of Al-Rahman Corps expelled Abu Muhammed Al-Rastan’s Brigade which is composed of about 35 members, where they have been sent out of the camp, then this brigade sat a roadblock on the road to Afrin city, and stole a vehicle of Al-Rahman Corps, followed by intervention of a commander of the corps who managed to restore the vehicle in return for a promise to pay the brigade’s dues tomorrow.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 8th of May 2018, that it monitored tension between the General Command of Rahman Corps and the leadership of Jobar neighborhood of Damascus in particular, in one hand, and between the Local Council of Jobar neighborhood on the other hand, after disagreements on ancient manuscripts and relics which were in the custody of leadership of Rahman Corps in Jobar neighborhood, and in the details which the Syrian Observatory was able to document: before the displacement process the Local Council of Jobar neighborhood trusted Rahman Corps on Jewish manuscripts and relics, used to be located in the synagogue within the Damascus neighbourhood of Jobar in the eastern section of the capital, and when the displacement was carried out in late March 2018 – beginning of April 2018; Rahman Corps transferred the relics and manuscripts it was trusted to keep to its destination north of Syria, but after reaching the Syrian north the Council asked the leadership of the Corps to return the things it was “trusted” to keep; the Corps denied having them, which created considerable tension between both parties, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored both parties carrying out meetings in order to reach a solution for this matter, while Rahman Corps insisted on denying having the relics and manuscripts with it, which pushed the Council and some of the fighters from Jobar neighbourhood –who fight under the command of the Corps– to accuse Rahman Corps represented by its leader Abdunnasir Shamir of “stealing the manuscripts and relics that were present in the synagogue”, which escalated the tension between both parties even more, also reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the relics are very precious.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also published on the 29th of March 2018 that an official working in Al-Rahman Corps was killed in Idlib province upon his arrival there, where his partner, who is a trader from the Eastern Ghouta, killed him. In the details obtained by the SOHR, a fight took place between financial official of Al-Rahman Corps, aka Abu Essam Aouka, against his partner in trade in the Eastern Ghouta, when the financial official of Al-Rahman Corps took the money of the Al-Rahman Corps safe with him to Idlib, after he left within the groups that were displaced within Jobar – Zamalka – Arbin agreement. An argument between the financial official and his partner, who used to work together in trade business in the Eastern Ghouta during the time of Al-Rahman Corps’ control over parts of the Eastern Ghouta, led to a fight on sharing the money, resulted in the death of Abu Essam Aouka who was shot dead by the gun of his partner at the outskirts of Idlib province.
