About 155 Russian raids and explosive barrels as well as hundreds of shells target the east of Daraa in 24 hours and the violent clashes continue between the regime and the factions

Daraa Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the escalation of the rocket and artillery shelling is still continuing along with the renewed bombardment on the eastern countryside of Daraa and the ongoing fighting in the contact lines, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of violent clashes between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against the rebel and Islamic factions, in Al-Lajat area and in the vicinity of Busr Al-Harir town, in an attempt by the regime forces to achieve further advancement in the area, where the regime forces managed to advance and take the control of farms in Al-Lajat area, following they managed to take the control of 5 villages in the past 48 hours, the SOHR also monitored that the warplanes carried out more raids on Busr Al-Harir Lajat, Western Mleha, Nahte and Al-Hrak, raising to more than 105, the number of raids that were carried out by Russian warplanes which targeted the eastern countryside of Daraa, in the past 24 hours, along with shelling by the regime forces by hundreds of shells, on areas in Al-Naimah, Busr Al-Harir, Nahte, Al-Hrak and other places on Al-Lajat areas, while the regime’s helicopters dropped in the past 24 hours, more than 49 explosive barrels which targeted the abovementioned areas, which caused material damage to the property of the citizens, while explosions were heard in in Daraa city and its countryside, caused by the fall of shells that were fired by the factions on the regime’s controlled areas in Daraa Al-Mahtta, and the area of Kharbat Ghazala controlled by the regime forces in the northern countryside of the city, which caused material damage, without information about casualties, the factions also targeted positions and vehicles of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, and there is information about the fall of more human losses in their ranks.

And the Syrian Observatory published hours ago, that with the continued escalation by the warplanes and helicopters, and by the regime forces, the displacement of the Syrian citizens of the eastern countryside of Daraa is continuing towards areas away from the battle fronts and the shelling, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the displacement of hundreds of persons from the villages and towns of Al-Lajat, Al-Karak Al-Sharqi, Nahte, Bosr al-Harir, Eastern Mleha, Western Mleha, Maliha Al-Atash, and other areas in the eastern countryside of Daraa, towards areas near the Syrian – Jordanian border, where it rose to more than 17200, the number of people who have been displaced from their houses, villages and towns in the east of Daraa, amid fears of the increase of displacement due to the military operations east of the province, after the failure of the international parties in finding a solution to the situation of the Syrian south, with the continued stubbornness of the Iranian forces, their allies,  and the gunmen supported by them; in withdrawing from the area according to the regional and international conditions imposed to achieve the solution in the Syrian south.

It is noteworthy that And these Russian raids which started last night on Daraa province, are the first raids to be carried out by Russian warplanes on the province since about a year ago, after the start of implementing the Syrian South agreement, that was reached between the US, Russia and Jordan, on the 9th of July 2017, and the shelling escalation and the displacement movement came as a result of the military operations east of the province, after the failure of the international parties in finding a solution to the situation of the Syrian south, with the continued stubbornness of the Iranian forces, their allies,  and the gunmen supported by them; in withdrawing from the area according to the regional and international conditions imposed to achieve the solution in the Syrian south.
