After calm lasted for hours…bombardment targets areas near Yarmouk Valley west of Daraa province

Daraa Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: explosions rocked once again places in the area of Yarmouk Basin in the western sector of Daraa countryside, they were caused by bombardment by the regime’s helicopters, on areas in the vicinity of Yarmouk Valley in the far south-western countryside of Daraa, after the calm which have prevailed the area since the sunset of today, Tuesday the 31st of July 2018, where the Syrian Observatory published hours ago, that the number of casualties in Yarmouk Basin is escalating, with revealing the destiny of missing people as well as the death of others, where it rose to 62 persons at least including 11 children and 10 citizen women, the number of people who have been killed since the 19th of July 2018, as a result of bombardment by warplanes and helicopters as well as the shelling by the regime forces on Yarmouk Basin in the western countryside of Daraa, and this increase was coincided with the rise of the number of people who were executed by the gunmen loyal to the regime forces and the members of the factions of the “reconciliation”, while they were leaving Yarmouk Basin heading towards Hayt area west of Daraa, where it rose to at least 48 persons at least including 8 women and boys, the number of the people of the families of Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid, who were killed, where they were shot after facilitating their exit from the are of Yarmouk Basin, also the SOHR has documented the death of 297 members of Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” Organization, who have been killed since the 19th of July 2018, the date of starting the regime’s operation against Jaysh Khaled Ibn Al-Waleed, and it also documented the death of at least 110 members and officers of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, who were killed in the same period, also hundreds others in the ranks of the both parties were injured with varying severity.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored cautious calm prevailing the west of Daraa, after a series of strikes which targeted the last areas where the fighters of Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” Organization gathered, amid fears about the fact that the regime forces may stopped the shelling in order to transport the remaining fighters of Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid towards the Syrian Desert, also the intersected sources confirmed hours ago to the Syrian Observatory that the strikes came after the failure of the first round of negotiations with the organization to transfer about 100 of who remained of Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid with about 150 “presumed captive” to the organization’s areas of presence in the desert, in exchange of the release of 30 abductees of the women and children and returning them to their families, where negotiations have been impeded amid attempts to reactivate and resume them, in order to finish them and complete the regime forces’ deployment in the entire Province of Daraa, after controlling all villages, towns, and cities, through a military operation and “reconciliations”, and the airstrikes were accompanied by artillery and missile shelling by the regime forces on the same areas.
