Uncertainty surrounds the nature of circumstances of the death of a female kidnapped by ISIS in al-Suwaidaa Desert
Al-Suwaidaa Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: uncertainty still surrounds the nature of the circumstances in which one of the abductees from the countryside of al-Suwaidaa died, where she was detained along with some 30 abductees from villages in the countryside of al-Suwaidaa, and have been held by ISIS since the 25th of July 2018, and in the details the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received: a woman died where the organization is holding the abductees during her detention period, after the deadliest and most violent attack in the countryside of al-Suwaidaa, which claimed the lives of some 260 civilians and armed men. Local sources said that the organization claimed through a photograph it sent to representatives of al-Suwaidaa province that she died because of a health conditions, but the villagers and her relatives accused the organization of killing her in response to the executions of its members which were carried out by the Syrian National Social Party and by gunmen loyalists in al-Suwaidaa city .
The death of this woman -which is shrouded in mystery- coincided with the undeclared negotiations between the organization and the regime, in an effort to find a complete solution to the issue of abductees and to implement the conditions of the organization by releasing members and persons close to it from the regime forces’ prisons and detention centers, and that is coinciding with the continuation of clashes between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in the eastern and northeastern desert of al-Suwaidaa, amid successive shelling by the regime forces targeted areas of presence of the organization and its controlled areas, in conjunction with aerial targeting amid an attempt by the regime forces to go deep more into the desert, after they were able to achieve a new advancement in the area.
The Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the pace of the military operations in Al-Suwaidaa desert decreased, where intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the decreased pace of clashes between the “Islamic State” organization against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, came as a result of sweeping processes by the latter in the areas into which they advanced, in both eastern and north-eastern deserts of Al-Suwaidaa, where the pace of the combat operations has decreased until it reached a state of calm prevailing the area and the battle fronts, with the exception of aerial and ground strikes that target every now and then, the controlled areas of the organization in the depth of Al-Suwaidaa desert.
While these negotiations are coincided with increasing the fears of the families of the Al-Suwaidaa abductees is increasing, of a new reaction by the “Islamic State” organization, in regard with what happened today morning, Tuesday the 7th of August 2018, where gunmen loyal to the regime forces has executed a member of the organization after capturing him alive then they hung him in a square in Al-Suwaidaa city, hanged him and put the banner of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, and these fears for the lives of the abductees, came days after the organization had executed the first citizen within the 30 women, children, and boys who were kidnapped by the organization on the 25th of July 2018, then they were transported to al-Suwaidaa desert, where the fears were accompanied by the citizens’ resentment, against this execution which was carried out by gunmen loyal to the regime and the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, where the latter denied that it participated in carrying out this execution, and considered this action that it is not of the morals of the party’s forces”, and the Syrian Observatory monitored hours ago, that the loyalists and gunmen villagers of al-Suwaidaa executing a prisoner of the “Islamic State” organization, hours after capturing him during the clashes in the al-Suwaidaa Desert, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring hundreds of the citizens and members of the gunmen loyal to the regime hanging one of the prisoner over the one of the arches in al-Suwaidaa, and it is not known whether the captive was hanged when he was hung, or if he was executed by gunfire after capturing him alive and after that his body was hung, amid fears for the lives of abductees of the countryside of al-Suwaidaa who are detained by ISIS.
