Death toll of Sarmada massacre increases to 69 including 31 children and woman, and may increase even more

Idlib Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a big increase in death toll of Sarmada massacre, following the death of more civilians and the recovery of more bodies, where it rose to 69 at least the number of casualties who have been documented by the Syrian Observatory, including 52 civilians (including 17 children a boy and 14 women), while most of the rest are members of the rebel and Islamic factions and the largest part of the casualties are from the displaced people of Homs province, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation.

This dramatic rise in human casualties has risen the citizens’ resentment, due to this disregard of the factions which control the area and how they allowed the store of weapons at the bottom of a residential building without caring to the fate of the citizens, also the voices of the citizens have increased, saying “is it not enough for us the death by the shells coming from the air? Till the explosions comes from the bottom of our residences”.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published this morning, Sunday the 12th of August 2018, that information indicated that it was caused by the explosion of an ammunition depot of an arms dealer who works with Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, the explosion took place at the bottom of a residential building in Bab al-Hawa Square area inside the town, which caused the collapse of the building over its residents, the majority of whom are of displaced people from Homs province.
