The Russian – Turkish truce ends its first day with successive violations by the regime forces in both Idlib and Hama countryside leaving 4 casualties and a number of other wounded
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the return of calm to both countryside of Idlib and Hama, after rounds of violations which targeted areas in the both provinces, where the SOHR monitored shelling by the regime forces on the sunset of today, Wednesday the 15th of August 2018, on areas in the villages of Al-Khwaiyn and Zarzur in the southern countryside of Idlib, preceded by a round of artillery shelling on areas in Al-Lataminah and Sukayk town and bombardment by helicopters by explosive barrels and by the regime forces which targeted areas in Al-Taman’aa town and its vicinity as well as Aziziyah area and Khan Shaykhun countryside, which resulted in the death of 4 citizens including a child who were killed as a result of bombardment in the first 24 hours of the Russian – Turkish truce, raising to 19 persons at least including 5 children and 4 women, the number of people who have been killed in Tahtaya, Al-Taman’aa, Al-Tah and Khan Shaykhun in the southern countryside of Idlib, since the 10th of August 2018, the date of the regime forces’ return to escalate their aerial and ground shelling on the southern sector of Idlib countryside.
This escalation which has been continuing for the 6th day despite the truce that was announced about, after a Russian – Turkish consensus, was coincided with the continuation of Turkey to bring trucks loaded with concrete blocks and prefabricated rooms, in order to encircle and fortify the 12 Turkish observation posts spread in Aleppo, Idlib, Hama, and the stretch of the foothills of Lattakia Mountains, amid information about a meeting that was held today, Wednesday, between dignitaries from Idlib countryside and between the Turkish forces in Sarman post, and sources said that this meeting was held in order to inform the locals that the regime has no intentions to carry out a military operation, and it is also coincided at the same time with mobilizations by the regime forces and bringing military reinforcements of hundreds of vehicles carrying hundreds of members, in addition to materiel, ammunition, vehicles and armored vehicles, to the outskirts of the factions’ areas of presence in Idlib, Hama, Lattakia and Aleppo, as a sign by the regime forces about an anticipated military operation, that aims to achieve advancement into Idlib province, after the inhabitants of Kafriya and Al-Fu’ah were completely evacuated within an agreement between Tahrir Al-Sham and the factions of Idlib and between the regime authorities.
The Syrian Observatory published yesterday after midnight, that it monitored a state of calm prevailing the provinces of Hama, Idlib, Aleppo and Lattakia completely, since the midnight of Tuesday – Wednesday, in the wake of information about reaching a Russian – Turkish agreement on a ceasefire in these areas, provided that it is not violated by neither the rebel and Islamic factions nor the regime forces and their allies, in the wake of targeting to positions of the regime forces in Al-Mujanzirat School in the north-eastern countryside of Hama and the area of Abu Omar in the south-eastern sector of Idlib countryside, which caused material damage and damage to military equipment in the targeted area, but no information was reported yet about casualties, while this truce comes after tens of air and ground strikes by warplanes and helicopters and by the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, on areas in the northern countryside of Hama, the western countryside of Idlib and the western countryside of Aleppo, which resulted in the fall of tens of casualties and wounded, and caused material damage and destruction to the property of the citizens and the infrastructure.
