Rif Dimashq Desert witnesses the regime forces’ continued military operations against the organization and the regime forces target Tlul Al-Safa area once again

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored artillery and rocket shelling during this evening by the regime forces which targeted ISIS controlled areas in Tlul Al-Safa in Rif Dimashq Desert adjacent to the administrative border with Al-Suwaidaa province, along with the continued violent clashes between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against the members of the “Islamic State” organization, in places in the abovementioned area, amid exchange of targeting in contact areas between the both parties, and there is preliminary information about casualties in the ranks of the both parties.

And the SOHR published today, Saturday the 18th of August 2018, that it monitored tension in al-Suwaidaa city against the backdrop of shooting incidents in sporadic areas of the city over the past few hours, where the Syrian Observatory monitored shooting at one of regime’s checkpoints near al-Bohtori gas station, after which two people were killed and others were injured, but no information about the reasons for the shooting yet, while a person was injured by unknown gunmen in al-Khazzanat area in al-Suwaidaa city, this tension came in conjunction with the resentment that has been prevailing the province due to the stall on the lives of the abductees, and as a result of the continued shelling by the regime forces on the area, where the people fear that the shelling may put the lives of those who have been kidnapped for the 25th consecutive day in danger, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored the continuation of clashes at a violent pace in Tlul al-Safa area in the Desert of Rif Dimashq at the administrative border with the countryside of al-Suwaidaa, between the “Islamic State” Organization against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, accompanied by the continued overflights of warplanes over the area, coinciding with intensive airstrikes carried out on the clash areas and sites of the organization in the area, in addition to the continuation of rocket shelling by the regime forces, also intersected sources confirmed that the organization is seeking to break the siege from outside of Tlul al-Safa area, through preparing to carry out attacks on the area at the administrative border of Rif Dimashq with al-Suwaidaa Province, coincided with attempts by the regime forces to force ISIS to surrender after besieging it in the area, the Syrian Observatory also monitored continuous efforts through negotiation to reach a final agreement between the regime and the Organization to resolve the issue of abductees, after the deaths of hundreds since the 25th of July 2018 where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented that it rose to 99, the number of ISIS members who have been killed in the bombings, shelling and clashes since the 25th of July 2018, while it rose to at least 33, the number of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them who were killed in the same period, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the attack of ISIS in Al-Suwaidaa countryside on the 25th of July 2018, the death of about 142 citizens including 38 women and children, in addition to the killing of 116 people, the majority of whom were of the gunmen villagers who carried the gun to repel the organization’s attack, and a 19-year-old boy was executed by ISIS after being kidnapped along with about 30 others, and a woman died when she was held by ISIS in conditions that still vague so far.
