ISIS violently attacks a 30-km-long front on Al-Mayadin – Al-Bokamal Road and an oilfield about 12 km away from Deir Ezzor Military Airbase

Deir Ezzor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor and its southern Desert are witnessing the sound of violent clashes and heavy gunfire caused by violent clashes in the area, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; the “Islamic State” organization carried out a violent attack on a front which is about 30 km long stretched from Al-Mayadin city to al-Dwayr Desert, along the western bank of the Euphrates River, in the eastern sector of Deir Ezzor countryside, in conjunction with violent clashes and an attack by the organization in the area of Al-Taim Oilfield, at a distance of about 12 km to the south of Deir Ezzor Military Airbase and the outskirts of the city, and the violent clashes are accompanied by intensive shelling and exchange of targeting between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against the members of the organization, the Syrian Observatory also monitored that warplanes supported the ground forces, where the airstrikes targeted positions of the organization, amid information about confirmed human losses in the ranks of the both parties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored in the past 24 hours, that the “Islamic State” Organization attacked sites of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them in the deserts of al-Asharah and al-Quriyah in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor last night, Friday the 31st of August 2018, after which violent clashes took place between both parties along with exchange of targeting, and information about casualties and injuries in the ranks of both parties, and the Syrian Observatory published 2 days ago that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored violent clashes in areas in the desert of Al-Asharah, Sbikhan and al-Dwayr in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, between the “Islamic State” organization against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, in an attack by the former on positions of the latter in the area, accompanied by exchange of targeting between the both parties.

The Syrian Observatory also monitored in the recent days, that Deir Ezzor Province is witnessing triple movements in both of its sections east and west of Euphrates River, these movements are carried out by the Syria Democratic Forces and the International Coalition in the east of Euphrates River, the regime forces and their allies of Syrians and non-Syrians nationalities in the west of Euphrates River, and, the “Islamic State” organization which moves on both bank and in the eastern countryside east and west of Euphrates River, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored during the past hours and days the regime forces sending military reinforcements from al-Mayadin city -the former capital of “al-Khayr State”- towards al-Bokamal International road known as the road of Tehran – Beirut, and sending reinforcements of hundreds of troops, machinery, weapons, and ammunition to areas opposite to ISIS enclave east of Euphrates, where the regime forces seek through this move to strengthen and fortify their fronts against the attacks of the organization that happen every now and then.

With this move by the regime forces on the west banks of Euphrates River; the Syria Democratic Forces are redeploying and fortifying their positions and points of presence along the enclave controlled by the “Islamic State” organization on the east bank of Euphrates, which includes Hajin, al-Sousah, al-Shafa, and al-Baghuz, where the International Coalition has prepared major preparations of machines, equipment, and soldiers, also the Syria Democratic Forces have brought military reinforcements to the area in preparation for the last attack against ISIS, to end its presence in the eastern bank of Euphrates as a dominant organization, although ISIS continues to carry out attacks by its members or groups, by targeting oil wells and oilfields, trying to disperse the Coalition and the Syria Democratic Forces, while the “Islamic State” organization is moving in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor east and west of Euphrates, where ISIS is occasionally carrying out attacks against the regime forces and their allies of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities along the west bank of Euphrates River, along with attacks that target deserts of cities and towns of the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, the most important of which were the 2 attacks, one of which took place in August 2018 which targeted al-Tim oilfield near Deir Ezzor Airbase, and the other one was carried out in June 2018 when ISIS targeted 100-km front.
