More casualties in the battles of Rif Dimashq Desert raise to 95, the number of casualties of the regime forces, their allies, and the organization in less than 10 days

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the clashes are continuing at a violent pace in areas in Rif Dimashq Desert which is located at the administrative border with Al-Suwaidaa, between the “Islamic State” organization against the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them and the Lebanese Hezbollah, where the clashes are concentrated in the area of Tlul Al-Safa within the regime’s ongoing military operations in the area, and the clashes are accompanied by ongoing rocket shelling by the regime forces on the area, and the ongoing battles left more human losses in the ranks of the both parties, raising to 32, the number of members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities and of the forces of the Lebanese Hezbollah, who were killed, including the commander of the front of south-eastern Syrian Desert in Hezbollah with 3 other members of it, while 105 members at least were injured with varying severity, while 63 members at least of the “Islamic State” organization were killed in the a period extended between the 25th of August 2018, the date of completing the 2nd month and until the 1st of September 2018.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday the 2nd of September 2018, that within the regime forces’ efforts to advance, and the goal of the organization to get the siege imposed on it in Rif Dimashq Desert which is adjacent to Al-Suwaidaa countryside, lifted, the recent week, which is the first week of the 2nd month of the battles of the south-eastern Syrian Desert, has witnessed violent combat operations, through which counterattacks took place between the organization against the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, where the battles which took place between the 25th of August 2018, the date of completing the 2nd month and until the 1st of September 2018, resulted in the fall of significant human losses in the ranks of the both parties, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 29 members at least of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities and of the forces of the Lebanese Hezbollah, including the commander of the front of south-eastern Syrian Desert in Hezbollah with 3 other members of it, while 94 members at least were injured with varying severity, while 57 members at least of the “Islamic State” organization were killed in the same period.

These violent battles are coincided with the negotiations which have not succeeded until now, to release the abductees or anyone of them, amid ambiguity surrounding the fate of the abducted people from the countryside of al-Suwaidaa Province, increasing the fears over their lives, which pushed the residents to carry out more sit-ins and calls in order to set their relatives free, while the regime forces are still continuing their stall, which the locals described it as indifference to their lives, and that the regime forces take the abductees as a motivation to recruit more people of the province in their wars against the organization, while the elders of al-Aql Sheikhs of the Unitarian Druze community have made a statement about assigning several people to a negotiating committee, and the Syrian Observatory obtained a copy of the statement, it says:

“due to the present circumstances and requirements of the public interest, a negotiating committee is formed in regard of the abductees of al-Suwaidaa province of the gentlemen: Dr. Samer Abu Ammar, Dr. Saeed al-Ak, Mr. Osama Abu Bakkar, Mr. Adel al-Hadi. And the work of the committee is limited to following up on the case of the abducted people of the province and reaching out to the concerned authorities to achieve their release and return to their families unharmed.”
