The cautious calm has been prevailing since after midnight of yesterday until now all areas of the Russian – Turkish truce in Latakia, Hama, Aleppo, and Idlib, as it enters its 24th day, except for the fall of some shells launched by the regime forces after midnight of yesterday on places in Jabal al-Akrad and Jabal al-Turkman in the northeastern countryside of Latakia, where the truce has been witnessing varying levels of continuation of this clam, interrupted by breaches by the regime forces escalating and expanding on a daily basis, where the regime forces are intensifying their bombardment every day and altering the shelled sites focusing daily on a different area, and the shelling of the regime during the last hours of last night, Thursday, the 6th of September 2018, on places in the villages of Tal Osman, al-Arba’in, and al-Zakat in the northern countryside of Hama, and Karkat village in Jabal Shashabo, and other places in Jazraya village in the southern countryside of Aleppo.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored popular calls and local and civil activities for mass demonstrations in tens of cities, towns and villages in all Idlib province and both Aleppo and Hama countryside, in condemnation against the ongoing shelling and escalation on Idlib province, which come with ongoing preparations by the regime forces and their allies for the grand battle of Idlib, where the calls raised slogans most prominent of which is “Al-Assad and de Mistura are companies of killing and displacement”.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that the shelling also targeted in the past few hours, areas in the south-western countryside of Aleppo, where the bombardment resulted in the displacement of tens of families, in addition to confusion among the locals, for fear of escalating the shelling or bombing the area by warplanes, which may cause a larger displacement movement in the area, after the Syrian Observatory monitored in the past few hours, a proactive displacement of villagers who live in the contact lines with regime forces’-controlled areas in the southeastern countryside of Idlib, and in the details monitored by the Syrian Observatory: about 1000 people within 180 families have been displacing since yesterday night, Wednesday, the 5th of September 2018, from their villages southeast of Idlib to areas in the western countryside of Aleppo and to Afrin city and its countryside, which are under the control of “Olive Branch” factions, also the Syrian Observatory monitored another movement from Maarrat al-Nu’man city and its countryside towards the border with Turkey; in particular to the camps located in the area, these pre-emptive displacements come within the framework of the grand battle of Idlib of which the regime forces and their allies are preparing.
