At least 17 members of the regime’s security and Asayish Forces were killed during clashes in Qameshly city

Al-Hasaka Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the death toll continues to rise in Qameshly city, as a result of the violent clashes that took place between a patrol of regime’s security force against members of the Internal Kurdish Security Forces, where intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that at least about 10 members of regime’s security forces were killed and others were injured, and at least 7 of the Asayish Forces were killed, and the death toll is expected to rise because some of the wounded are in critical situation, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory about the causes of the clash, a patrol of the regime forces refused to stop on a checkpoint of the Asayish Forces after al-Siyahi neighborhood on al-Hasaka road, which caused tension between both parties and this tension evolved into a verbal altercation, after which the regime forces called on support of their members to the checkpoint area, which turned the quarrel and tension into a clash between both parties, and several members of regime’s security forces were killed, then the Asayish forces surrounded the area with snipers spread over the roofs of buildings around the checkpoint area and started shooting members of the regime forces, which caused this rise in number of casualties of the regime forces.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored deployment and alert by both parties, in anticipation for the possible developments in the city, where Asayish forces were seen spreading in areas of control of the Kurdish forces in the city, in  conjunction with alert by the regime forces inside the security box and their neighborhoods, amid fears among the people of the escalation of this tension and turning to extended clashes, after al-Qameshly city and Hasaka city -in which the regime forces are present- had witnessed previous clashes between the Kurdish forces against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
