The regime forces and their security bodies carry out campaigns of searching and raids against persons carried out “settlements and reconciliations” in the northern countryside of Homs

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a campaign of searching and raids carried out by the regime forces in the northern countryside of Homs, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; the regime forces have arrested about 11 persons in Al-Rastan city which is located in the northern countryside of Homs, it is noteworthy that the detainees are members of the “civil Defense” who carried out “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime forces during the latter’s operation to take the control of the northern countryside, and this arrest  comes within the campaigns that are being carried out by the regime forces within the areas which they recently imposed their control over, through military operations or “settlements and reconciliations”, and the SOHR published hours ago, that the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus witnesses arrests by the regime’s intelligence, at escalated pace, and these arrests targeted citizen women, people work in medical fields and opponents to the regime who formerly held “reconciliations and settlements” with the regime forces, after a displacement agreement according which tens of thousands of citizens and fighters have displaced with their families to the Syrian North, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory; the regime’s intelligence have arrested 7 citizen women from Saqba and Hamouriyyah cities, worked previously in the medical field in the medical centers in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, where they were transported to the capital Damascus, and taken to one of the branches of the regime’s intelligence, in order to question them about the details of their work and the period when they served in the medical centers, and the SOHR monitored in the past 72 hours that the regime forces arrested 3 citizen women, as well as arresting more than 75 others from Douma, Saqba, Hamouriyyah, Mesraba, Zamalka, Ein Tarma, Hazza and other areas in the eastern Ghouta, and the Syrian Observatory monitored that the arrests are concentrated during the evening, where the regime’s intelligence raids the houses of the residents and arrests them after searching the houses, the SOHR also monitored a security campaign by the regime forces in Al-Tal city, in Rif Dimashq, where blocks were sat up and raids and searching processes in houses and shops were carried out, in search for wanted people of those who defaulted the compulsory military service, and the SOHR monitored that about 30 boys were arrested and taken to the barracks of the regime’s army.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published days ago, that the areas which has witnessed “reconciliation and settlements” with the regime forces in the Eastern Ghouta, Eastern Qalamoun, Daraa, and others, are still witnessing the continuation of the security operations of raids and arrests by regime’s security forces on various pretexts despite the “settlements” in these areas, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights continues to monitor these operations, which take place almost daily in the shadow of a media blackout of it and of the suffering of the remaining residents in the “reconciliation” areas mentioned above, where Douma city in the Eastern Ghouta is witnessing an alert situation by the regime forces and its security branches where the 6 months are almost expired, which is the period of time provided by the Russians as a guarantee to those who decided to stay and to make “reconciliation and settlements” to join the compulsory service for the new recruits, those how passed their conscripting date, and those who defected from the regime forces, where Douma is witnessing an alert of the Syrian regime’s military police and state security branch, looking for wanted people in conjunction with carrying out raid operations since yesterday, Thursday, also the Syrian Observatory learned that the security branches have established lists in names of people wanted for the mandatory service to join the security points in the Eastern Ghouta in a maximum of 7 days, while the regime forces arrested more than 20 persons of al-Dumayr, who are former fighters of the factions who carried out “settlements” in the area, and they were taken to an unknown destination.

The Syrian Observatory published on the 5th of September 2018 that the regime forces continue their security operations and clamping down on residents of the Eastern Ghouta who remain in the cities and towns of Ghouta, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the regime forces carrying out scrutiny and research in the registers of people getting in and out of the Eastern Ghouta, to check whether they are wanted for security authorities, and the reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the regime forces recently replaced the checkpoints of its military forces in the vicinity of the Eastern Ghouta, in areas such as al-Maliha and Ein Tera as well as the checkpoints of the Republican Guard Forces, with checkpoints of forces of its security branches including the branch of Air intelligence and State Security, also the reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the regime forces in recent days have carried out inspection operations in al-Muhammadiyah area, al-Ashari farms and the orchards of the al-Marj area, where they inspect the area on a daily bases and search for concealed weapons, where the regime forces in the inspections are accompanied by specialists carrying equipment to detect the buried weapons, as well as former fighters in the ranks of the factions that used to working in the Eastern Ghouta, of who have “settled their situations”, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also published on the 26th of August 2018 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Right monitored the regime forces carrying out raids and detentions in the Eastern Ghouta in Rif Dimashq, where sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the regime forces are carrying out daily and consecutive raids in the cities and towns of the Eastern Ghouta, in search of “wanted” people, the regime forces also take them to security branches in the capital Damascus in order to be investigated and interrogated about specific issues, while the locals and some of those arrested and released told that the investigations are related to the communication with the displaced people from the Eastern Ghouta to the Syrian north and the presence of their children in the Syrian north, and the former work with institutions belong to opposition, regional or international parties, where the numbers of people arrested reached about 300 during the last week, these processes also targeted a majority of the persons who were arrested on charge of “investigating the sources of finance of the relief and medical institutions in the Eastern Ghouta”, amid resentment against the arrests which target the residents of the area and of those who refused to leave it, from time to time, as a new episode in the series of raids, searches and detentions which are carried out by the regime forces and its security branches, against the remaining inhabitants of the Eastern Ghouta, where the raids are being carried out occasionally in towns, cities, and farms of the Eastern Ghouta searching for “wanted” or weapons, in conjunction with summoning certain people according to nominal lists in order to carry out investigations with the people who worked in relief, humanitarian, medical, and military institutions, local councils, rescue teams, and civil defense, during the period of control of the Islamic factions in the Eastern Ghouta, prior to the displacement of tens of thousands of civilians and fighters towards the Syrian north, where the Syrian Observatory monitored people who had previously served in the civil defense being called by branches of regime’s security, which conducted investigations with them and returned them to the Eastern Ghouta, without allowing them to leave it.

Also the regime forces have made incumbent upon the residents of the Eastern Ghouta, to get a “security approval”, in the case that they desire to leave towards the capital Damascus, and local sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the regime’s checkpoints provided that the residents of the Eastern Ghouta have to head towards the officers who are in charge of the Eastern Ghouta, in order to obtain a “departure permission”, in order to be allowed to leave through the checkpoints to the capital Damascus, and the locals confirmed that this document is given after a quick investigation to those who request the “departure permission”, and the investigation includes questions about their relatives and those who remained of them inside Ghouta, and those who left towards the Syrian North or outside Syria, while sources talked about the fact that the regime forces prevented those who used to work in medic and relief fields, or within parties opposed to the regime in the Eastern Ghouta, and stayed in the Eastern Ghouta to have their situations settled, from leaving towards Damascus.
