In conjunction with more violations against the inhabitants of Afrin and carrying out more processes of trafficking the detainees…cells of the Kurdish forces carry out more attacks against the forces of the “Olive Branch” Operation

Aleppo Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: violations continue a day after another in Afrin area, and the arrests and torture continue along with the ongoing operations against the factions operating within the “Olive Branch” Operations, which are in control of the area, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the detonation of an IED in the countryside of Bulbula town, which caused material damage, amid information about the fall of human losses, in addition to clashes took place between cells of the Kurdish forces against fighters of Ahrar al-Sharqiyyah, near Kafr Nabu village in Sharran Township, in a surprising attack by the cells of the YPG, and the clashes resulted in the fall of human losses in the ranks of the both parties, raising to at lest 123, the number of assassinations that targeted the forces controlling Afrin area, which continue to prevent civilians from returning from the northern countryside of Aleppo, towards their towns, villages, and residences from which they have been displaced, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the rise of number of casualties as a result of the continuation of these groups of the YPG to carry out targeting operation against the Turkish forces and the factions in Afrin area, where it rose to at least 1577, the number of fighters of the YPG and the Self-Defense forces who have been killed since the start of the Operation “Olive Branch”, while it rose to 623, the number of members of the Turkish forces and the rebel and Islamic factions including 83 soldiers of the Turkish forces, who were killed in the clashes against the Kurdish Units in Afrin area and in the targeting they have been subjected to, while leading sources of the YPG denied that their forces or cells had relation or responsibility for many of the assassinations and acts of torture; some of which appeared on videos and attributed to the Kurdish Forces, and the sources accused other cells belong to other parties of carrying out these assassinations and attributing them to the Kurdish Forces for their own agenda, the main aim of which is to escalating their violations against the civilians, where the resentment has been increasing among the civilians day after day, with the unfair and unjust procedures, and the silence of the Turkish Forces -who are leading the “Olive Branch” operation- and not responding to their complaints.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored members from factions operating in the “Olive Branch” operation, practicing more violations through carrying out more arrests against the citizens and imposing ransoms over their families in order to release them, where the SOHR monitored arrests that targeted more boys and men in Afrin city and its countryside, under the pretext of being related to the Kurdish forces and other accusations against them, after members from factions operating in the “Olive Branch” operation, arrested in the past few days, more citizens and took them to their headquarters, along with trafficking them through negotiation with their families for a specific ransom -which sometimes reaches 10 million Syrian pounds- in exchange for the release of their detainee, also the local sources confirmed that the factions are seeking through the raid to carry out more looting and stealing of the citizens’ property, which led to some residents resisting them by expelling them or preventing them from entering their homes in Afrin city or in the villages and towns of Afrin city, while some locals filed a complaint to the Turkish Forces but they did nothing, and left the hands of factions of “Olive Branch” operation free in Afrin, also residents complained about the prohibition of the Turkish Forces and the factions which operate under their command of the farmers to work on their lands and farms, by targeting them if they approached the land, also the schools are still close until further notice from the officials of Afrin area and the local councils working on the administration of the area.
