Daraa Province witnesses the first clashes against ISIS cells after about 2 months of its loss of influence in the province

Daraa Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored clashes between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against gunmen believed to be members of the “Islamic State” organization, intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the clashes took place during the hours of last night in al-Hara town in the northwestern countryside of Daraa city, which killed a member of the regime forces and information about other injuries in the ranks of the cell, members of the regime forces, and the militiamen loyal to them, where this is considered the first clash in Daraa Province after the regime forces managed to control it completely in late July 2018, after military operations against Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” organization in Yarmouk Basin west of Daraa, and after military operations against the rebel and Islamic factions and Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, and after “reconciliations and situation settlement” which took place in the province.

These clashes come in the wake of arrests against citizens in the countryside of Daraa last night, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that the Syrian Observatory monitored that the regime forces have arrested 3 citizens in Izra’a village, and 5 others in Al-Hara town, in the countryside of Daraa province, and took them to their security branches in order to question them, although the citizens have their situations settled previously with the regime.

The Syrian Observatory published hours ago, that it monitored that the regime forces have released about 100 detainees from Al-Lajat area which is located on the administrative border of Daraa countryside with the countryside of Al-Suwaidaa province, of those who are still held in the regime’s detention centers, after a campaign of arrests targeted them in the wake of the attack witnessed in Al-Suwaidaa province on the 25th of July 2018, and which claimed the lives of at least 258 persons of citizens and gunmen villagers and injured hundreds others with varying severity, and in the wake of the attacks which were witnessed in the area of Khalkhala Military Airbase, and the sources confirmed that this release came at a Russian request to the regime forces.
