ISIS carries out counter attacks on positions of SDF in Al-Baghuz east of Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the members of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities are continuing their counter attacks on positions of the Syria Democratic Forces in Al-Baghuz area in the eastern sector of Deir Ezzor countryside, where the clashes are continuing at violent pace between the both parties, within a series of counter attacks that are carried by the organization every now and then in order to inflict the largest possible number of casualties in the ranks of the SDF, where the organization initiated the today’s new attack by detonating 2 booby trapped vehicles, also the clashes are accompanied by exchange of targeting and shelling, amid information about the fall of more casualties and wounded in the ranks of both parties, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago, that the clashes continue in places in the vicinity of al-Shajla adjacent to Baghuz and in the vicinity of al-Susah town located within the last enclave of the “Islamic State” organization in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, between members of the Organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the Syria Democratic Forces and the International Coalition, amid hearing a violent explosion in the al-Baghuz area, it is likely to be caused by detonating a booby-trapped vehicle in the area and confirmed information about more casualties in the ranks of both parties, and the Syrian Observatory published hours ago that the military operations of the Syria Democratic Forces, supported by the International Coalition Forces continue as the expense of the “Islamic State” organization within its last enclave in the eastern banks of Euphrates River in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, as the clashes continue at a violent pace between both parties concentrated in areas in the vicinity of al-Shajla area adjacent to al-Baghuz and in the vicinity of al-Susah town, and the military operations are accompanied by rocket shelling by the Syria Democratic Forces in addition to occasional aerial targeting by the International Coalition warplanes, where they target vehicles and sites of the Organization in the area from time to time, while SDF are facing difficulties in advancing because of the large number of mines and IDEs planted by the Organization professionally in its controlled areas earlier, in addition to the many snipers of the “Islamic State” organization, who prevent the rapid advancement of SDF in the last enclave of the Organization, also SOHR obtained videos show the International Coalition destroy vehicles of the “Islamic State” Organization within the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

Also, the continuous military operations have left more casualties in the ranks of both parties during the clashes and targeting vehicles of the “Islamic State” organization by the International Coalition in the area, where to at least 185, the number of members of the organization who were killed in these clashes, and it rose to at least 100, the number of members who were killed of the Syria Democratic Forces, one of whom has served as a field commander in Deir Ezzor Military Council of the Syria Democratic Forces, while the death toll is expected to increase due to the presence of information about other casualties as well as the presence of injured cases in serious conditions.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored shelling by the International Coalition Forces by 6 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, targeting the controlled areas of the “Islamic State” organization on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, the Syrian Observatory also monitored ongoing violent clashes between the Syria Democratic Forces supported by the International Coalition against the members of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, in areas in ISIS last enclave east of the Euphrates, where the clashes are concentrated in the vicinity of Al-Shajlah area which is adjacent to Al-Baghuz and in the vicinity of Al-Susah town, within the efforts of SDF to achieve advancement in the area and decrease the organization’s scope of control, amid exchange of targeting in the clash areas, amid information about more human losses in the ranks of the both parties.

The reliable sources also confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that forces of Deir Ezzor Military Council of the Syria Democratic Forces, are positioned in the first lines facing the “Islamic State” organization after the withdrawal of YPG and replacing them by al-Sh’aytat fighters; and then the withdrawal of the last mentioned and the position of Deir Ezzor Military Council in the area, of which the Organization intensely planted with mines, where the Organization deliberately planted laser mines that strained the advancing forces and caused significant casualties, where the sources confirmed that the mines, their sensitivity, and intensity in the last enclave of the Organization, have injured tens of fighters with varying severity and amputations, also the “Islamic State” organization is relying on the tunnel tactic, where fighters confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they -in several repeated cases- had advanced in areas in the ISIS-enclave east of Euphrates, to be surprised by members of the organization attacking them from the back lines of SDF members who advanced in the area, where ISIS members infiltrate through tunnels to the rear lines of the Syria Democratic Forces, which constituted a state of apprehension of any advancing in the area, and increased the carefulness of the attacking forces supported by the International Coalition during any attack, also the targeting operations which is carried out by the organization is carried out through very small groups of snipers and guided shoulder-mounted missiles, targeting the Syria Democratic Forces and the advancing members and paralyzing their advancement and stopping it for as long as possible, also, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from several reliable sources, that members of the “Islamic State” organization have infiltrated from the last enclave of the Organization east of Euphrates; to its west banks, where the regime forces, the Iranian forces, and their loyal gunmen are controlling the area, where they were monitored and tolerated by the International Coalition Forces who are attacking the last enclave of the Organization.
