The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

The regime forces renew their violations to Putin – Erdogan agreement and target the faction’s positions within the buffer area

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the renewed breaches within the areas of the Turkish – Russian truce, and the demilitarized area stretched from the north-eastern mountains of Lattakia, to the north-western suburbs of Aleppo city passing through both Hama and Idlib, where the regime forces shelled today, Monday the 15th of October 2018, places in the areas of Kabanah, Al-Haddadah, and Tuffahiyeh in Jabal Al-Akrad in the northern countryside of Lattakia, and other areas in Jabal Al-Turkman in the same countryside, without information about human losses so far, where these breaches disturbs the calm that has been prevailing the rest areas, while the jihadist factions and groups are still stationed in their positions and posts within the buffer area about 70 % of which is under their control, as the first day after the end of the deadline for the “jihadis” to leave is almost finished.

And the Syrian Observatory published hours ago, that although the Russian – Turkish agreement has been in effect since about 14 hours ago, the violations take place in this agreement, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored targeting by the regime forces for areas in Sukayk village in the southern countryside of Idlib, coincided with opening heavy machineguns’ fire on areas in the village, which is located within the demilitarized area, in clear defiance of this truce and the Putin – Erdogan agreement, followed by targeting by the faction for Atshan area using machineguns and snipers, where this is the first violation on the first day of implementation of the Russian – Turkish agreement, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the calm continue to imposing itself on areas of the Turkish – Russian truce and the demilitarized area, which extends from the northeastern mountains of  Latakia through the countryside of Hama and Idlib to the northwestern suburbs of Aleppo city, and despite being the first day of the Turkish – Russian agreement after the end of the deadline of the “jihadis to leave” at midnight of yesterday, without documenting the leave of any of these “jihadi” groups, which control about 70% of the buffer area, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has not monitored until now any joint or one-party Russian – Turkish patrols within the demilitarized area, amid anticipation in the area and areas of the Russian – Turkish truce for the situation in the next phase, while reconnaissance drones were seen flying in the sky of the heavy-weapon demilitarized area.

The Syrian Observatory published the morning, the 15th of October 2018 that cautious calm prevails areas of the Russian – Turkish truce in Idlib, Latakia, Aleppo, and Hama, as no targeting or shelling has been recorded, while this cautious calm coincides with the end of the deadline for the “jihadis to leave” the demilitarized area, which stretches from the northeastern mountains of Latakia through Hama and Idlib to the northwestern suburbs of Aleppo, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has not monitored any withdrawal of the “jihadi” factions, which control more than 70% of the buffer area, amid continuous fears from starting a ground shelling by the Russians and the regime forces, using the excuse that the “Jihadis” have not withdrawn, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday night, that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a calm in areas of the Russian – Turkish truce and the demilitarized area in the 4 provinces of Latakia, Hama, Idlib, and Aleppo, except for targeting by the regime forces using heavy machineguns for areas south of Morek town in the northern countryside of Hama, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored hours ago renewed shelling by the regime forces, violating again the Russian – Turkish truce in the demilitarized area in Sahl al-Ghab at the northwestern countryside of Hama, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored shelling by the regime forces targeted areas in al-Ziyara town, which caused material damage but no information about casualties, this comes with cautious anticipation as the deadline given for the “Jihadis to leave” the demilitarized area ends, of which the withdrawal of heavy weapons took place days ago, and some of the weapons were concealed by the rebel and Islamic factions and the “Jihadi” factions where the “Jihadis” control about 70% of the buffer area, amid fears of the start of ground shelling by the Russians and the regime for the area on the pretext that the “Jihadis did not leave,” who have not yet made any announced withdrawals for any group of them.

This anticipation comes in conjunction with a statement issued by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, for the first time since the agreement of the demilitarized area was reached; after a meeting on the 17th of September 2018, between the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Russian President Vladimir Putin, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received a copy of the statement, in which Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham said that it will not choose other that the option of jihad and fight to achieve the objectives of “our Blessed revolution, foremost of which is the overthrow of the criminal regime, releasing the prisoners, and the safe return of the displaced people to their country”, it also said that it will not forget the credit of who supported it, and that its weapons are “the safety valve for the Revolution of the Levant and a spear protects al-Sunnah people, defends their rights, and liberate their land, and we will not abandon or surrender them”, also the statement said: “we strived and are striving to provide security and safety to our people; and to live a good life with all possible legitimate means provided by the balanced Sharia policy and it controls, without letting our people fall in the trap of conspiracy by dragging them to a delusional safety and false claims that the reality proved to be faked more than once, and we appreciate the efforts of all those who at home and abroad who seek to protect the liberated area, and prevent it from being invaded as well as carrying out the massacres in it, but at the same time, we warn of the cunning of the Russian occupier or to trust its intentions, and its relentless attempts to weaken the revolution and digest its achievements minimizing its true political and military role, and this is what we do not accept in any way, whatever the circumstances and the results, also, all the attempts of the criminal will end by fail and defeat, and the will of freedom that the Syrian people hold represents the flood that will plunge them and break their arrogant arrogance”.
