As the “jihadis” refrain from leaving it, the demilitarized area witnesses targeting between the regime forces and Hurras al-Dien that killed a fighter of the latter

Areas in Jabal al-Akrad and Jabal al-Turkman in the northeastern countryside of Latakia are witnessing renewed shelling and mutual targeting, between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against Hurras al-Dien faction, where the Syrian Observatory monitored exchange of shelling on the contact lines between both parties, as part of the exchange of shelling in areas at the coast mountains within the demilitarized area since 3 days ago until now, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of a fighter of the “jihadi” Organization of Hurras al-Dien during the bombings that took place in the past 24 hours, but other than that, the cautious calm prevails the other areas of the demilitarized area, which was agreed upon a month ago in the meeting that took place between the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Russian President Vladimir Putin, also the Turkish efforts continue to persuade Jihadi groups and factions to withdraw from the buffer area, which stretches from the northeastern mountains of Latakia to the northwestern suburbs of Aleppo city through the countryside of Idlib and Hama.

The Syrian Observatory published this morning that demilitarized area, stretching from the northeastern mountains of Latakia to the northwestern suburbs of Aleppo city passing through the countryside of Idlib and Hama, is witnessing a cautious calm in all its areas since after midnight of yesterday until now, following a series of violations yesterday, Tuesday, where this calm is accompanied by a calm in locations and headquarters of the Jihadi factions and groups within the buffer area, where activists of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights did not monitor any withdrawal of “jihadis”, from their positions and points, although the Turkish – Russian agreement has been in force for 3 days, also the Turkish intelligence service continues looking for solutions with these factions that may lead to their withdrawal from the demilitarized area, and the Syrian Observatory published in the past hours that the  Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces returned in the recent hours, to target the areas of the Russian – Turkish truce, through renewed shelling targeting places in Al-Sakhr area in the northern sector of Hama countryside, and the regime forces also monitored shelling which targeted Kabanah area in Jabal Al-Akrad and Al-Sermaniyah area in the outskirts of Sahl Al-Ghab on the administrative border between Idlib and Hama, along with the continuation of the “jihadist” groups to be stationed in their positions and headquarters in the demilitarized zone, stretched from the north-eastern mountains of Lattakia, to the north-western suburbs of Aleppo city passing through both Hama and Idlib, amid ongoing efforts by the Turkish Intelligence to persuade the “jihadis” to change their decision to remain and withdraw from the demilitarized zone, which was agreed upon on the 17th of September 2018, after a Russian – Turkish joint decision between Putin and Erdogan.

And the Syrian Observatory published hours ago, that it monitored a new violation in the demilitarized zone, after the calm that prevailed the area for long hours, where the Syrian Observatory monitored targeting by the regime forces to the areas of Barnas and Tuffahiyeh in the area of the north-eastern countryside of Lattakia, which caused material damage, within the buffer area, without information about casualties, and these violations are coincided with the “jihadis” abstention to leave the buffer zone, where the Syrian Observatory published today morning the 16th of October 2018, that areas of the Turkish – Russian truce and the demilitarized area extending from the northeastern mountains of Latakia passing through the countryside of Hama and Idlib to the northwestern suburbs of Aleppo city; are witnessing continuous and renewed violations, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored targeting by the regime forces after midnight of yesterday for places on the outskirts of Morek in the northern countryside of Hama, also the regime forces renewed the shelling after midnight of yesterday on areas at Jabal al-Turkman in the northeastern countryside of Latakia, but no information about casualties, while the Syrian Observatory did not monitor the implementation of the Russian – Turkish agreement until the moment despite its entry into force since the end of midnight on Sunday-Monday, where no joint Turkish – Russian patrols or unilateral one-party patrols have been conducted yet, while the Syrian Observatory monitored that no withdrawal has been made by any of the “Jihadi” groups from the buffer area, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday night that Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the renewed breaches within the areas of the Turkish – Russian truce, and the demilitarized area stretched from the north-eastern mountains of Lattakia, to the north-western suburbs of Aleppo city passing through both Hama and Idlib, where the regime forces shelled today, Monday the 15th of October 2018, places in the areas of Kabanah, Al-Haddadah, and Tuffahiyeh in Jabal Al-Akrad in the northern countryside of Lattakia, and other areas in Jabal Al-Turkman in the same countryside, without information about human losses so far, where these breaches disturbs the calm that has been prevailing the rest areas, while the jihadist factions and groups are still stationed in their positions and posts within the buffer area about 70 % of which is under their control, as the first day after the end of the deadline for the “jihadis” to leave is almost finished.
