The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

Hours after the arrival of the Iranian and regime’s military reinforcements to the east of Deir Ezzor, clashes between their members and ISIS on both banks of Euphrates

Deir Ezzor Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory monitored renewed clashes between the regime of forces and militiamen loyal to them of Iranian forces of Syrian and non-Syrian militias; against members of the “Islamic State” Organization where the clash was carried out through targeting using heavy machineguns by the regime forces who are positioned in the west of Euphrates River, and between members of the Organization in Hajin area east of Euphrates River, amid artillery shelling and exchange of rocket shelling between both parties, but no information about casualties so far, and these clashes come after the arrival of reinforcements for the regime forces and Iranian forces in the area, where the Syrian Observatory published hours ago that since losing its strategic control on the road of Tehran – Beirut in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor on the western banks of Euphrates River, in December 2017; the “Islamic State” Organization has not stopped threatening the regime forces and their allies of the Iranian Forces, the Palestinian, Lebanese, Iraqi, Afghan, Syrian and Asian militias who are present in the entire western line of Euphrates, the threat took the form of artillery and ground attacks targeted the regime forces and its allies, or through ground attacks monitored by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, in which the “Islamic State” Organization moves from the eastern banks of Euphrates River, coming from its last pocket east of the river to the west bank of the river, and it comes every time from an area trying to bluff the regime forces and their allies, and despite their surveillance of the river they were not able to stop these attacks, which cause large numbers of casualties and wounded each time, also the Organization was able to make a road for itself to exit towards the Syrian Desert, in which the Organization has a large enclave in addition to positions scattered within the Syrian Desert on the administrative border between Deir Ezzor and Homs.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the regime forces, the Iranian Forces, and their allies continue sending military reinforcements in the last 24 hours to al-Bokamal area, in anticipation of any counterattack by the “Islamic State” Organization to find a new destination and place for it, where these forces are trying to fortifying their positions in the west of Euphrates River, in conjunction with the military operation being prepared by the Coalition and SDF east of Euphrates River, after breaches it witnessed by groups of Organizations, which infiltrated through the river from its eastern and western banks to move towards the desert, and then carry out attacks against Iranians, regime, and other militias in villages, sites, cities, and towns stretching from the south of Deir Ezzor city to al-Bokamal on the Syrian – Iraqi border, and despite the dirty deal of the regime and the Iranians weeks ago, through which the regime forces and the Iranian forces transported more than 400 members of the “Islamic State” Organization on the 23rd of September 2018, from al-Bokamal area in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, which took place in violent clashes led by Qassim Soleimani, the commander of al-Quds Corps of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and the transfer took place from al-Bokamal Desert area to the eastern countryside of Idlib province, where they were transferred to areas near the controlled areas of the “jihadi” factions operating in Idlib province, where they arrived at dawn on the 24th of September but it is not known yet whether the 400 members were able to enter the eastern countryside of Idlib, which has been witnessing an activity of ISIS cells since the 26th of April 2018, which killed hundreds of civilians, fighters, and commanders of Syrian, Arab, Asian, and western nationalities.

And the Syrian observatory obtained information from a number of reliable sources, in the past few days, which confirmed that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard opened the “enlisting” in the ranks of its forces operating on the Syrian territory within Deir Ezzor province, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory from reliable sources: the Revolutionary Guards opened for the first time in the countryside of Deir Ezzor Province, the door for “enlisting” in its forces for the Syrian citizens in the province, and the sources confirmed that this is the first time the enlisting in the ranks of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces is opened, where previously the enlisting only included the Iranian-funded militias which are backed by the Iranian Forces, such as al-Nujabaa militias, Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, and Hezbollah.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from reliable sources that the process of enlisting has begun with a noticeable presence of the inhabitants of Deir Ezzor countryside and the number of people who want to be enlisted reached hundreds people, where this enlisting includes both former defected members of the regime forces and those wishing to “settle their situation,” as well as former fighters in ranks of regime’s opponents, and other citizens the sources said that most of them were from al-Quriyah area in the countryside of al-Mayadin city, and the sources told the Syrian Observatory that the process of luring the citizens to come was through a monthly salary of $150 USD, and letting them choosing the place of service between going to the battlefronts or stay at the training center west of Euphrates River, in addition to the immunity from the regime forces and from being arrested.
