About 370 families in al-Abyad camp west of Aleppo live dark days as winter begins and humanitarian conditions worsen

Aleppo Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored tragic situation for the displaced people in al-Abyad camp near Kafr Karmeen town in the western countryside of Aleppo, where about 370 families -mostly women and children- displaced from the southern countryside of Aleppo and from Aleppo city; are living difficult humanitarian conditions, in the shadow of a harsh winter in the area and the lack of minimum requirements of life, where the residents are suffering from lack of food and heating materials, and the lack of attention from the relief organizations in addition to the lack of health care and medicines, which lead to the spread of many diseases without being addressed by the medical authorities, also the poor conditions of the residents of this camp reflect negatively on their purchasing power, and their ability to purchase the necessary materials in the light of a crazy rise in the prices, also these conditions come in the light of heavy rains that flooded the camp’s ground which also worsened the situation of the camp, where some tents were uprooted, and other tents were flooded.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored thousands of displaced people living tragic humanitarian situation within the “Lastom Wahdakom” camp (You are not Alone), which is located near Kafrluseen village north of Idlib, at the border with Iskenderun, this camp was established by the Turkish Red Crescent and the Turkish organization AFAD, which includes about 1800 tents sheltering thousands of people who were displaced from central Syria, the Eastern Ghouta and south of Damascus, where the displaced people are living humanitarian situations worsening day after the other, like the severe shortage of potable water which does not cover the needs of the camp, amid the lack of basic life requirements, lack of food, medicine, medical and humanitarian services.

This camp is one of many camps in which the displaced people in the north of Idlib suffer the same situations, which caused widespread resentment among the citizens who care displaced from their areas, about the services and about turning e blind eye by the humanitarian organizations, and not doing their part fully, where the Syrian Observatory published on the 27th of May 2018 that central Syria’s displaced people live difficult humanitarian situations in the areas to which they have been displaced in the Syrian north, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the tragic situation of the camps in the northern countryside of Idlib, where fighters and civilians have been displaced from the southern countryside of Hama and the northern countryside of Homs, as part of the displacement agreement from central Syria, amid poor organizing, lack of food, medicine, medical and humanitarian services, and electricity, as well as interruptions and severe shortages of potable water, also there are no medical points or doctors in the area of the camps, where the nearest medical point from the camps’ area is about 10 km.
