In the wake of violations and ongoing chaos in Afrin…gunmen storm a house, kill an elderly woman and thieve the money and gold of her family and a faction arrests an activist from Al-Ghouta

The residents of Afrin area who remained in it, are still living a real tragedy in the wake of the ongoing violations against them, by the Turkish-backed factions of the Operation “Olive Branch”, or by armed gangs that devastated their livelihood, their property and their lives, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a new violation against the residents of Afrin, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; unidentified gunmen stormed today morning, Friday the 9th of November 2018, the house of a Kurdish citizen in Burj Abdallu village on the countryside of Afrin area, they tied the man with his wife and stole a sum of money and jewelry from them, but the gunmen were not content with the theft, they killed the man’s mother who is an elderly woman, where the gunmen strangled her to death, the SOHR also monitored that a faction close to Turkey and operating in Afrin city, arrested an activist who has been displaced from the Eastern Ghouta, amid fears of handing over the activist who was on a photography tour in Afrin city, to the Turkish forces, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 7th of November 2018, that at least 7 citizens were killed and injured in an agricultural land in an olive plantation in S’eryanli area in the northern countryside of Afrin, where intersected sources confirmed that the explosion hit an agricultural tractor for one of the farmers of the area’s residents, which killed 5 of those who were in it and injured 2 others, ands among the 5 casualties there are 2 children, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 6th of November 2018 that kidnappings, murders, thefts, and other similar incidents continue in the shadow of the security chaos prevailing Afrin city and its countryside, which are under the control of the Turkish-backed “Olive Branch” factions, and in a new chapter of the security chaos; the Syrian Observatory monitored the abduction of a man from al-Basutah area in the countryside of Afrin city by unidentified gunmen, where he was abducted when he was returning from the harvest of olives in his agricultural land in the area, where he was taken to an unknown destination until the moment, and this incident comes in continuation of arrests that target citizens and the abductions that take place consecutively, where the Syrian Observatory published on the 3rd of November 2018 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that one of the factions supported by Turkey arrested a whole family of 4 people in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory: the 9th Division arrested a man and his 3 children -including a girl- on their way back from Turkey to the Syrian north, where the arrest took place in Jarabulus town which is under the control of the Turkish-backed factions, and they were taken to a destination that still unknown until now, and in Afrin which is under the control of the “Olive Branch” factions in the northwestern countryside of Aleppo, the Syrian Observatory monitored a new internal clashes in the ranks of al-Sultan Murad Division in Kafr Jannah village, where violent clashes took place dawn of today, Saturday, between a group its fighters are from the countryside of Aleppo, and another group its fighters are from Homs, where the clashes between both parties injured more than 10 fighters of them, while the conditions of these clashes remain vague, amid tension in the area, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday, Friday, that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the violations continue one after the other, tiring the remaining residents of Afrin and constraining them by the factions controlling the area, which take their orders from the Turkish Forces that led “Olive Branch” Operation, under which they controlled Afrin area, and the Syrian Observatory monitored the factions abducting more citizens; and contacting their relatives to pay a ransom to release them, otherwise the unknown will be their fate, where there is nothing stopping these factions from doing what they want, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored during the past 72 the abduction of more than 7 citizens of Afrin countryside, and transferring them to unknown locations by factions operating within the “Olive Branch” Operation, including a doctor whose family was requested to pay a ransom of $1 million otherwise they will kill him, this coincided with more looting of civilians of Afrin, the last one of which was what monitored by the Syrian Observatory during the last 24 hours: where unidentified gunmen believed to be of a faction operating in the countryside of Afrin, raided a woman’s house and robbed about half million Syrian pounds, and jewelry worth about 2 million Syrian pounds, in addition to looting appliances, furniture, and other contents of the house, intersected sources also confirmed that members of the group assaulted the son of the woman and his and wife, while the Brigadier General of Samarqand in Afrin area took over Rotanli village which belongs to Maabatli township, and forced its remaining inhabitants to transport the olive harvest to these olive compressors, they also established a prison inside the village, where most of its inhabitants were displaced during “Olive Branch” Operation led by the Turkish Forces, also the leader of the Islam Brigades in Kila area at Bulbula Township in Afrin area; imposed decisions on the citizens remaining in the area which is to pay a 1000 Syrian pounds for each olive tree, in order to allow them to harvest the olive harvest, but the decision was subsequently replaced by a fine of 300 barrels of olive oil from the crops of the village, whose people were displaced and assigned who remained in the village to harvest the olive crops in their farms, while factions in Ikbis Square area stole the olives, chopped trees of farms abandoned by their owners, and then sold them in the market.
