White Helmets Host Bicycle Race for Idlib Town Children

Dozens of Jisr al-Shughur children participated in a bike race on December 5 hosted by the White Helmets and NuDay Syria, local news reported.

The race was organized in honor of International Volunteer Day, according to the White Helmets.

Trophies were awarded to the fastest cyclists, while all the children were gifted toys at the end of the race, Wael Ibrahim, the manager of NuDay Syria’s office in Jisr al-Shughur said.

An explosion in the town’s countryside killed a child in November, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Footage from the race shows the children riding their bikes through Jisr al-Shughur and the award ceremony. The video also features interviews with representative of NuDay Syria and the White Helmets.
