Violent explosions hit the capital Damascus in conjunction with firing anti-aircraft missiles by the regime’s defenses

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored violent explosions rocking the capital Damascus and its vicinity today Friday, the 11th of January 2019, along with firing anti-aircraft missiles by the bases of the regime’s air defenses, while there is no information so far about the areas which are expected to be targeted by new Israeli targeting, and the SOHR published on the 25th of December 2018, that it learned that the violent explosions which rocked the capital Damascus and its suburbs, were caused by Israeli missile strikes carried out by warplanes from the Lebanese airspace, and they targeted areas in both western and south-western countryside of the capital Damascus, where the Israeli bombardment and the firing of missiles by the regime’s air defenses are still continuing, and intersected sources confirmed to the SOHR, that a batch of missiles hit 3 targets in both western and south-western countryside of the capital Damascus, and the targets are weapons depots either of the Lebanese Hezbollah or of the Iranian forces, without information so far, about human losses or the amount of the material damage, while the bombardment is still continuing until this moment, also information was received about the fall of objects on the area of the occupied Syrian Golan, it is not known whether they are of a missile that was fired from the Syrian territory or they are shrapnel of the missiles of the air defenses that the regime forces fired in order to intercept the Israeli missiles in Syria’s airspace.

And the Syrian Observatory published on the 9th of December 2018, that explosions rocked areas in the outskirts of the capital Damascus, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the sound of the explosions were caused by missiles fired by the air defenses targeting objects while falling on the area near Damascus International Airport and the outskirts of the capital Damascus, and no information was reported so far about the nature of the targets that were tried to be shelled or the amount of human and material losses, where intersected sources suggested that the strikes were caused by Israeli rocket shelling on areas that were shelled previously, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 29th of November 2018, that the second round of the Israeli missile attack that took place on the night of yesterday Thursday the 29th of November 2018, targeted warehouses and weapons depots in Jabal al-Mania in the south of Rif Dimashq, belong to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah, where the targeting took place using 2 missiles, but no information about casualties until now, and the targeted warehouses were warehouses in which missiles were temporarily stored before being transported to their destination, also an Israeli missile landed in Harfa area at the administrative border between Damascus provinces and al-Quneitra, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday evening that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the sound of intensive explosions for about an hour which targeted areas in the countryside of the capital and the Syrian South, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory; the Israeli forces have been continuously targeting and for about an hour, areas in both southern and south-western sectors of the countryside of the capital Damascus and areas in the administrative border with Al-Quneitra countryside, also the air defenses were monitored firing their missiles heavily in the area, in attempts to intercept the largest possible number of the Israeli missiles which are being successively and continuously fired, and this is the first targeting since September 2018, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 17th of September 2018, that it documented the death of 2 military personnel (who have not been identified until the moment) were killed during the intensive missile attack that believed to be Israeli strikes, which targeted yesterday night a warehouses within the Technical Industries Foundation located in the eastern suburbs of Latakia city, where the bodies were found after putting out the fires caused by the targeting, and the targeting also injured more than 10 soldiers: seven of them are Syrians and the other 3 were not known, which may raise the death toll.

And the Syrian Observatory published at that time, that intersected sources told the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the missiles which dropped the Russian warplane off the Syrian coast, were launched by regime’s air defenses in the 23rd Brigade in the countryside of Baniyas, where reliable sources confirmed that the missiles were launched from the area and targeted the Russian warplane over the sea in the area between Jableh and Baniyas, where it appeared on the radar that a hostile target existed at the time of the Israeli missile strikes, which targeted warehouses of the Technical Institution in the eastern suburbs of Latakia city, where this institution which follows the Ministry of Industry is located in the industrial area and includes plants and factories in a civilian area, not a military one, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 17th of September 2018, that the Israeli missiles which launched on the countryside of Baniyas in Tartous Province; were trying to target air defense batteries that were firing missiles to intercept the Israeli bombardment.

And successive explosions rocket on Saturday the 15th of September 2018, areas in the suburbs of the capital Damascus, intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, that they were caused by rocket targeting which hit areas near Damascus International Airport and its vicinity, believed to be fired by the Israeli forces, targeting warehouses and a weapons shipment that recently arrived to these warehouses, which caused substantial damage, but no information about casualties was reported yet, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 4th of September 2018, that the explosions which rocked the coastal city of Baniyas in Tartus countryside, and Misyaf Mountains in the western countryside of Hama, were caused by Israeli rocket shelling which targeted positions including Iranian military constructions, which caused material damage, amid confirmed information about the fall of casualties, where 2 violent explosions rocked at that time, Baniyas area in Tartus countryside, intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they were caused by the fall of 2 missiles on the area of Harf Bnamra near Baniyas Refinery, in the area of Deir al-Bishl, in the outskirts of Baniyas city, and this is the first time that Baniyas is subjected to rocket targeting, while no information was reported about the amount of material damage, and the Syrian Observatory monitored in the same day, the sound of violent explosions that rocked Misyaf area, in the western sector of Hama countryside, caused by rocket targeting to Misyaf Mountains, on the road between Misyaf city and the area of Wadi Al-Oyoun, and their source is not known so far, the SOHR also published on the 2nd of September 2018, that 3 persons including two members of the military personnel, were killed as a result of the explosions which targeted Al-Mazza Military Airbase and which were caused by Israeli rocket targeting, where it resulted in successive explosions in ammunition depots inside the airbase, in addition to the fall of 10 wounded some of whom are in serious condition.
