Idlib’s security chaos continues through more detonations and assassinations that target the controlled areas of Tahrir Al-Sham after the assassination of 448 citizens and Syrian and non-Syrian fighters

Idlib Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored an IED explosion at the outskirts of Kafr Dariyan village in Idlib countryside, after the midnight of Friday – Saturday, without information about casualties, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that unidentified gunmen shot a person in Khan Shaykhun city in the southern sector of Idlib countryside, on Friday evening, which caused his death, where they had stolen the killed person’s rifle before they escaped, and these incidents come as a part of the ongoing security chaos in the controlled areas of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the factions in Idlib province and the surrounding countryside, raising to 448, the number of people who were assassinated and killed at the countryside of Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama, since the 26th of April 2018, the date of starting the security chaos to be escalated in the province, they are the wife of an Uzbek commander and his son, in addition to 115 civilians including 14 children and 8 women, of who were assassinated through bomb explosions, IED detonations, shooting, abduction, murder and then throwing the bodies in remote areas, and 284 fighters of Syrian nationality belong to Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, al-Sham Corps, the Islamic Movement of Ahrar al-Sham, Jaysh al-Izza, and other factions operating in Idlib, and 47 fighters of Somali, Uzbek, Asian, Gulf, Jordanian, Turkish and Caucasian nationalities have been assassinated in the same ways, also the assassination attempts have injured tens of people with varying severity, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 23rd of January 2019, that Idlib Province and the countryside of the surrounding provinces witnessed an escalation in the killings last week, from the 17th of January 2019, until the 23rd of the same month, where the Syrian Observatory monitored the first day, the 17th of January 2019, that Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham executed 4 members it accused of belonging to the “Islamic State” Organization and carrying out executions, where they were shot after digging a hole to bury them I a mass grave, they were executed while members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, civilians, and fighters were gathering and watching in the vicinity of the execution place, followed me by a reprisal assassinations carried out by these cells, which started to grow about 24 hours after the first execution of the four members.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented 15 assassinations, bombings and killing attempts in the recent 44 hours that left 41 casualties and wounded of citizens and fighters where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on the 7th day the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the fining of a body which is still unidentified; near the electricity department of Abu Kasha area near Mrimin area in the northern countryside of Jisr al-Shughur, where the body of a person was found shot dead, on the 6th and 5th day there was no assassinations or killing attempts, on the 4th day the death of a member in a “jihadi” faction operating in Idlib countryside, after an attack by unidentified gunmen who stabbed him with knifes in the north of Darkush on the road to Azmarin area, while the SOHR monitored that unidentified persons kidnapped a chemist in Jobas area in the eastern countryside of Idlib, and on the 3rd day a loud explosion was heard in Kafrsajna town in the southern countryside of Idlib, it turned out to be caused by an IED explosion on the road between Kafrsajna and Hish when it was being dismantled, which injured a person, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a loud explosion in Idlib city, it was caused by a bomb explosion in a car near the al-Mohafaza Hospital, and intersected sources confirmed that the bombing targeted a commander in a Corps close to Turkey, which seriously injured him and also injured 4 others including his wife, while an IED exploded in a car of an Islamic faction, which injured a member in Mardebseh area, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on the 2nd day that unidentified gunmen killed a member of a non-Syrian nationality in Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham in Frika area in Jisr al-Shughur countryside, and then the group fled, also an explosion targeted one of the members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham in Mardebseh area, where the explosion seriously injured a member, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored yesterday, Friday, many of the assassinations and bombings that reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they came in response by cells belong to the “Islamic State” Organization in Idlib, which carried out hundreds of previous assassinations, on an execution carried out by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham against 4 members of the cells who were accused by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham of belonging to the “Islamic State” Organization, where they were shot by members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham with guns, and the Syrian Observatory monitor on Friday, the 18th of January 2019, targeting a vehicle belongs to Jaysh al-Izza in Khan Shaykhun city in the southern countryside of Idlib, which injured a group commander in the rebel army which operates in the area and in north of Hama, also the Syrian Observatory monitored finding the body of a young man in the vicinity of Kansafra town in Jabal al-Zawiyah in the southern sector of Idlib countryside, but no information about the circumstances of his death, while the car of an activist was targeted in Korin area in the countryside of Idlib, which injured him, while 3 members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham were killed by shooting at one of them and detonating an IED with the two others in Khan al-Sobol area, also 2 members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham were assassinated by targeting in Darat Azza area in the western Aleppo countryside connected with Idlib countryside, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the injury of 3 members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham in shooting by unidentified gunmen on the road to Sarmada town in the northern countryside of Idlib, where two of the wounded suffer serious injuries, while the Syrian Observatory monitored an attack against a commander in Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, at Ma’arrat Mesrin in the northern countryside of Idlib, where the attackers stabbed and killed the commander with sharp tools, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the detonation of a booby-trapped vehicle in a site of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham near al-Mutlaq roundabout in the southern part of Idlib city, where the explosion killed 13 people including at least 11 members who died in the bombing, and about 8 others were injured, and it is not known whether the remaining 4 are civilians or fighters, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation.

And on the 1st day the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and other factions are continuing to carry out security operations, through which they aim to arrest and detect “sleeper cells” responsible for the assassinations, which included the execution of 4 members of these cells, and on the 19th of January 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the execution of 12 members of the “Islamic State” Organization who were detained by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, where the Syrian Observatory monitored an execution carried out at the bombing site on January the 18th of January 2019, against 12 members of the cells, where Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham closed all roads leading to the execution place and surrounded the area until finishing the mass execution.

And as more members of these cells are executed, it rose to 122, the number of members of ISIS and its cells who have been killed since the end of April 2018, of Syrian, Iraqi, and other non-Syrian nationalities, including at least 62 where executed by slaughtering them or directly shooting them, while the rest were killed during raids and exchange of gunfire between these cells and members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham in the areas of Salqin, Sarmin, Sahel al-Rouj and several other areas in the countryside of Idlib, after they were arrested previously within the campaign of arrests which targeted tens of persons on charge of these accusations, and which sometimes witnessed violent clashes between members of these cells and members of Tahrir Al-Sham, as well as the executions that used to be carried out directly, or through mass targeting to positions and headquarters of these cells, and this is the first execution to be carried out within the Russian – Turkish demilitarized area, which was specified within the Russian – Turkish agreement that recently reached.

Where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the security forces in Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the rebel and Islamic factions of Syrian and non-Syrian nationality have repeatedly failed to control this security chaos, despite their security operations that caused the arrest of cells belong to the “Islamic State” organization, and other cells responsible for kidnappings, assassination attempts, and assassinations, but these operations have not been able to achieve any complete results, but the cells have remained as it is wandering within the areas in which they have caused an uncontrolled security, where the cells are reducing their activity with each military operation, and get active again as security operation ends.
