Suspected Daesh suicide attack hits HTS-linked Idlib council

A suspected Daesh (ISIS) suicide attack on the governing council of insurgent-held Idlib in northwest Syria on Tuesday killed two people and injured three others, Syrian opposition activists said.

The target was the National Salvation Government in Idlib city, which is linked to the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham militant alliance that controls much of the enclave in northwestern Syria.

The Local Coordination Committees and Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the attack was carried out by a woman, who exchanged fire with guards before blowing herself up.
