A major escalation through shelling by more than 115 missiles and shells target Khan Shaykhun city, kills 48 civilians in 3 consecutive weeks and displaces tens of thousands

Idlib Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a new day of intensive targeting of areas in Khan Shaykhun city in the southern countryside of Idlib, where the Syrian Observatory monitored intensive shelling by the regime forces against the city, in an increased pressure by the regime to cause more destruction and prevent the residents from returning to it, after displacing more than 32000 residents and people, and the Syrian Observatory monitored since the morning of Friday, the 1st of March 2019, shelling by more than 115 shells and missile targeted several areas in Khan Shaykhun city, which caused more destruction and damage to the property of citizens, and the Syrian Observatory learned that the shelling killed 2 citizens and injured others, which raised the number of people who were killed to 48 civilian citizens including 15 children and 15 women in Khan Shaykhun since the 9th February 2019, as a result of the shelling of the city, including 3 children who were killed in the air raids on the city.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published about 72 hours ago that  Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received confirmed information that the shelling on the neighborhoods of Khan Shaykhun was concentrated on the them sequentially, where the intensive shelling at the beginning was concentrated on the northern and eastern neighborhoods, and caused a complete displacement of residents of both neighborhoods, except for some young men who remained to guard the houses in both neighborhoods, followed by shelling targeted the western and southern neighborhoods from which a large number of residents were displaced, where more than 32000 people have displaced fleeing the rocket and artillery shelling that targeted the city, the local sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the massive shelling has pushed former displaced people in Khan Shaykhun city from the countryside of Hama, to displace again, where the city is considered as a center for the displaced people, who are mostly coming from the areas that became under the control of the regime forces during the military operations in the recent years.
