A senior Islamic State (IS) insurgent was captured on Thursday in the Turkish province of Bursa.

Daily Sabah said in a report that the high-ranking jihadist was arrested based on intelligence information, adding that he was believed to have mingled with the Syrian refugees while entering Turkey.

The Turkish security forces have recently detained some 55 IS members in the same province, according to the report.

Earlier on Monday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights noted that over 80 extremists have moved from Syria to the neighboring country of Turkey with their family members.
