Out of 106…the regime’s authorities release about 85 prisoners from Hama Central Prison about 100 days after the end of their open strike inside the prison

Hama Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a new mass release by the regime’s authorities, of the prisoners of Hama Central Prison, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; 46 prisoners in Hama Central Prison have been released by the regime’s authorities, thus, it rose to 85 at least, the number of prisoners who have been released until now, while it is expected in the incoming days the release of the remaining prisoners of the 106 prisoners who are set to be released, while the Syrian Observatory published in the past days, that a state of anticipation prevails among the prisoners at Hama Central Prison, waiting regime’s authorities to complete the release of tens of them, of who regime’s authorities decided to release them after being detained for various periods of time, in addition to sentencing less heavier sentences against prisoners who had been sentenced to harsh sentences, where the sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that 18 prisoners have been released of who had served different sentences, while the remaining prisoners will be released in the next few days consecutively, while the Syrian Observatory’s legal sources asserted that the death sentences had been commuted to life imprisonment with hard labor, and the sentences of life-time hard labor had been commuted to 15 years in prison with hard labor, and the sources confirmed that among the released convicts there are those who had served three quarters of their sentence, and it is likely that those sentenced to death will be released, of who carried out the open strikes against the unjust decision against them, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 1st of December 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the prisoners of conscience in Hama Central prison have ended their hunger strike, which lasted 18 days since the 12th of November until yesterday the 30th of the same month, and this came after promises by the prison authorities to follow up on their demands, where the prisoners of conscience there carried out an open hunger strike in protest against the regime’s sentencing of 11 detainees in Hama Central prison to carry out their death sentence, against the backdrop of their participation in demonstrations in various Syrian areas, calling for the overthrow of the regime, while during the period of their strike the prison was cut off of the communication by the Syrian regime authorities, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 16th of November 2018 that  the authorities of the Syrian regime continue to cut off the internet of the central prison of Hama since Thursday, the 15th of November, in the light of the continued open hunger strike, which has been carried out by the prisoners of opinion who were imprisoned in Hama prison by the Syrian regime and its security branches, against the backdrop of charges related to the Syrian revolution since its beginning in March 2011, where the hunger strike is in its 5th day after they started it on Monday, the 12th of November 2018, where the strike came in protest against the regime’s issuance of death sentence against 11 detainees in Hama Central Prison, against the backdrop of their participation in demonstrations in various Syrian areas, calling for the overthrow of the regime. Cutting off the communications came after the spread of a video from inside the central prison of Hama documenting the strike, in which the detainees appealed for intervening to stop the execution, also it comes in a not-new action to the repression of the Syrian regime and its security branches to pressure the detainees to break their strike, amid continuous fears for the lives of those prisoners who have no guilt but to stood against tyrannical regime in Syria, and it is feared that they face the fate of at least 104 thousand Syrian citizens, who have been executed and killed inside prisons and jails of the regime forces and its intelligence services.

The Syrian Observatory published on Monday the 12th of November 2018 that the arrested people in Hama Central Prison, who have been imprisoned by the Syrian regime and its security branches on charges related to the Syrian revolution since its start in March 2011; continue their open hunger strike for the third day since Monday, the 12th of November 2018, which came in protest against the judicial rulings against 11 detainees in Hama Central Prison, to carry out death sentence against them, because of their participation in demonstrations in various Syrian areas called for the overthrow of the regime, where it is feared that they face the fate of the 104 Syrian citizens who were executed, killed, and died in the prisons of the regime forces and its intelligence branches, while the voices of the detainees who are carrying out the strike are rising calling for international parties to intervene fast before it is too late, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the detainees of Hama Central prison -who were imprisoned by the Syrian regime and its security branches against the backdrop of charges related to the Syrian revolution since its start in March 2011- have entered into an open hunger strike protesting regime’s rulings against 11 prisoners at Hama Central Prison with death sentence; because they participated in demonstrations in various Syrian areas calling for the overthrow of the regime, while fears still persist for the lives of the 11 detainees, where the regime is preparing to carry out the death sentence against them, amid continued silence from the international community, the responsible international courts, and international parties.

The Syrian Observatory published on the 9th of November 2018 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from several reliable sources about the detainees in the prisons and detentions of the regime, of who have been imprisoned on the background of charges related to the Syrian revolution since March 2011, and in the details confirmed by the Syrian Observatory’s reliable sources: more than 104 Syrian citizen were executed, killed, and martyred in the prisons of the regime forces and its intelligence services, where more than 83% of them were liquidated, killed, and died in these camps between May 2013 and October 2015, the sources also confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that more than 30000 detainees were killed in the notorious prison of Sednaya, while the second predominant percentage was in the Air Intelligence branches run by the serial killer Jamil Al-Hassan, the General in the ranks of regime’s intelligence.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from its own sources that Iran bears the primary responsibility with the regime of Bashar al-Assad in killing and liquidating the detainees and leaving them to their fate of hunger and sickness, as they used to supervise the prisons and jails of the regime forces and intelligence, until after the entry of the Russian forces in the Syrian conflict line in the end of September 2015, which took over the detainee file from the regime which used to promote it in the international forums and meetings, where the detainee file was changed.

Despite the fact that Russia took over the file, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored the failure of the Russians in releasing tens of thousands of detainees who are still inside regime’s prisons and detention centers, where more than 80000 prisoners are still alive in the prisons and detentions of the regime, some of whom have spent years in detention under disastrous humanitarian conditions, and the sources confirmed that some of the detainees died in dormitories as a result of their poor health, the significant reduction in food, and the lack of medical and health care, as well as torturing, beating, and insulting the detainees on various charges.
