Coincidentally, a family of a media activist witnessed regime forces’ killing of foreign journalists in Baba Amr neighborhood discovers his death with his brother in the civil records

In an incident that is no longer a strange practice or abuse by Bashar al-Assad’s regime and its security branches, the fate of a media activist and his brother from Baba Amr neighborhood in Homs city is still unknown, they were arrested by regime’s intelligence in March 2012, where the regime forces refuse to admit their deaths in their jails, and the details of the incident comes when family of the media activist Ali Osman while they were issuing a family statement paper from regime’s departments in Homs city about a month ago, they were surprised that their children Ali and his brother are documented dead in regime’s civil records, one of them dated late December 2013 and the other in 2015, where they were not notified by the regime forces that their children had died over the past years, and their body have not been handed over yet, it worth mentioning that the media activist was a companion for the foreign journalists when they were at Baba Amr neighborhood to cover the shelling of the regime forces on the area at the time, and he witnessed the killing of several journalists in shelling by the regime forces in the neighborhood, then the regime forces arrested him in March 2012, and then he appeared on regime’s TV channels forced to make confessions he has nothing to do with them, and the Syrian Observatory published that Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that a police man defected of the regime forces, died under torture inside the basements of the regime’s intelligence and the security services affiliated to it, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; “Felastin Branch” of the regime forces summoned a police man who defected of the regime forces and joined the rebel factions before carrying out a “reconciliation and settlement” after the regime forces imposed their control over Daraa, then he was detained in the regime’s prisons for about 2 months before he died under torture, after that, his family received his ownership documents, while the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 2 men from Maarrat Al-Nu’man in the southern countryside of Idlib, under torture in the security detention centers after about 6 years of detention, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 9th of April 2019, that it documented the death of a young man from Kafr Zita town in the northern countryside of Hama under torture, where he died in the security detention of the regime forces about a year after arresting him, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 5th of April 2019 that the prisons are still claiming the lives of more Syrian victims at detentions that knows only death, despite the release of detainees and prisoners, the killing continues in these prisons and jails which include tens of thousands of missing people and the tens of thousands of corpses killed by regime’s authorities and its intelligence as well as authorities of its allies, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of a person of Yarmouk Camp’s resident, he is a Palestinian person and he died under torture inside the security detention of the regime forces following his earlier arrest, while the Syrian Observatory published on the 7th of March 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented more casualties under torture in the detentions of regime’s security branches, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory: the names of 10 people mostly of one family from al-Rastan city in the northern countryside of Homs, their families were informed about their death, where they were detained in regime’s basements for varying periods of time since the start of the Syrian revolution in 2011.

This announcement comes as part of the continued killing in basements of death, which since 2011 witnessed the Syrian regime and its allies killing tens of thousands of Syrian citizens, who were arrested on various charges during the Syrian revolution about their opposition to the regime, and against the backdrop of their coming out in demonstrations against the Syrian regime, raising to 16082 civilians casualties by names, they are: 15893 men and young men, 125 children under the age of eighteen, and 64 women over the age of eighteen out of 104000 people of whom the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that they were killed inside the branches, and more than 83%  of them were liquidated, killed, and died in these camps between May 2013 and October 2015, while the sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that more than 30000 detainees were killed in the notorious prison of Sednaya, and the second largest percentage of killing was in the Air Force Intelligence department, which is run by the butcher Jamil al-Hasan, the brigadier in regime’s intelligence.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published about 72 hours ago that the silent death continues in the basements of death, which are prepared by the Syrian regime’s authorities, not for anything, but to kill those who oppose them and those who demand freedom, justice, equality, democracy, or even reform, or call them all together, and with all this death, the politicians are still meeting to divide the ground, not to care for the people beneath it, where their sufferings are confined in jails, death cellars, and human slaughterhouses prepared by the regime and its allies, and their tragedy was increased by the silence of those trafficking with their cases, and this suffering was kept trapped in the breasts of their families, who were hanging their hops to the new Astana meetings, but their hearts were broken, hopes wiped out; by the final statement of the meeting, which did not come to mention their sons, brothers, fathers, daughters, sisters, and mothers who are detained in the vaults of the security branches, and between a day and the other; the magnitude of their suffering cannot be measured, nothing around them except for death, and to their stomachs only enters food they are being humiliated to get, and they are being deprived of to subdue them.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored discontent, which began to increase because of the last Astana meeting, especially among the families of the detainees, the disappeared and the casualties in the prisons and jails of the regime of Bashar al-Assad, which did not spare a criminal method in arresting, killing and torturing the Syrian citizens, all in front of the world which stayed silent as usual, and only moves in accordance with its interests, ambitions, and goals at a time where the tragedy of the tens of thousands of Syrian detainees was witnessing a new type of transaction, which aim to trafficking in Syrian detainees by using them in exchange operations with prisoners and abductees of the rebel and Islamic factions operating in the Syrian north, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a Russian-led proposal, based on carrying out exchanges through releasing detainees held by the Syrian regime, and prisoners and abductees held by the opposition factions and the rebel and Islamic factions, where Russia hinted about a close process of exchanging for tens of abductees and captives, amid fears that detainees would be turned into mere victims and commercial goods, to be exchanged for abductees and captives, without heading towards the full release of detainees.
