260 children die in camp in northeastern Syria since early 2019

At least 260 children have died as a result of the tough humanitarian situation in a refugee camp in northeastern Syria since the beginning of 2019, a war monitor reported on Saturday.

The children are part of hundreds of people who have died in the al-Hol camp in the Kurdish-controlled part of Syria’s northeastern province of Hasakah.

The deaths were caused by the “tragic situation” in the camp such as the harsh weather and livelihood of people, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The al-Hol camp is home to 73,361 people, most of whom fled the Islamic State (IS)-held areas in eastern Syria. Enditem
