Syrian Su-22, Su-24 Fighter Bombers Pound Terrorists Fortifications In Idlib And Hama (Videos)

Syrian Su-22 and Su-24 fighter bombers carried out 33 airstrikes with bunker buster bombs on terrorists’ fortifications in Hama and Idlib for the first time since the beginning of the Russian, Syrian aerial operations there last week, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on May 4.

According to the UK-based monitoring group, the fighter bombers, which took off from the T4 and Shayrat airbases, targeted positions in the towns of al-Hawwash and al-Hwaiz in northern Hama, as well as in the towns of Hirsh Kafr Nabl Kansafra Maarzita al-Bara Ehsim Fatterah and Hassanah in southern Idlib.

The Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) is believed to be operating more than 20 Su-22M4 and at least 10 Su-24M2 fighters bombers. Theses fighter bombers are responsible for most of the SyAAF ground attacks missions.

The SyAAF and the Russian Aerospace Forces resumed their airstrikes on Idlib and its surroundings late April following a series of attacks on the Hmeimim airbase on the Syrian coast. These airstrikes may appear to be the first stage of a large-scale operation, which, according to pro–government sources, is expected to begin in the upcoming few days.
