Demonstrators burn the Turkish flag in Maarrat Al-Nu’man city in protest against the Turkish silence all through 12 days of the fiercest escalation ever in conjunction with the continued aerial and ground escalation on the areas of the Russian – Turkish truce

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that tens of young men went out in a demonstration after the afternoon prayer in Maarrat Al-Nu’man city in protest against the continued shelling on both Hama and Idlib countryside, and one of the demonstrators has burnt the Turkish flag amid the demonstrators’ cheers shouting “the people want to overthrow the regime”, “we are the ones who have raised the Turkish flag and we are the ones who lower it and this is the end of every betrayer Allah willing”, “down with Bashar” and why do we have to be afraid?! Allah is with us”, and these demonstrations are coincided with the entry of the fiercest escalation ever on the “de-escalation” areas it 12th day, amid the displacement of about 300,000 citizens and the death of 108 other citizens.

And with regarding to the aerial escalation, the SOHR monitored Russian warplanes flying over “Idlib and Hama” along with carrying out more raids on Al-Hbit, Al-Ankawi and Kabanah area in Jabal Al-Akrad, raising the number of raids to 33 they are: 10 raids on Al-Hbit and its outskirts, 5 on Al-Ankawi, 3 on the outskirts of Kafr Nubl, 2 on each of the outskirts of Al-Ftirah, the area of Kabanah in Jabal Al-Akrad, Abdeen, the area of Wadi Mertahoun, the outskirts of Ma’arat-harama, Al-Bara and Al-Huwayz, while it rose to 69, the number of barrel bombs dropped by helicopters on areas in Idlib countryside since morning, they are: 33 barrels on Al-Hbit, 5 on the outskirts of Khan Shaykhun, 4 on Ma’arat-harama town, 4 on Rakaya Sajna, 6 on Kafr Sajna, 4 on Jbala, and 2 barrels on each of Hish, Horsh Abdeen, Sheikh Mustafa and Sahyan, also it rose to 32, the number of raids carried out by regime’s warplanes on areas in countryside of Idlib and Hama today, Saturday, and they are: 8 on al-Sarmaniyah, 6 on al-Hbit, 4 raids on places in Kafrsajna town, 3 on the outskirts of Ihsim, 3 other raids on Kabana area in Jabal al-Kurd, and 2 raids on each of the outskirts of al-Bara, al-Ftirah, and Ma’aret Hurmah, also areas in the Abandoned Battalion and other areas in the south-eastern countryside of Idlib were subjected to rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces.

And with the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 289, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin-Erdogan agreement, and they are: 108 civilians including 16 children and 29 citizen women, and they are 33 including 7 female children and 9 women, another woman and two of her children, were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 22 including 7 women and a child girl were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 33 including 7 women, 5 children, and a member of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 19 people including 5 women and a child were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and a civilian was killed in shelling by the factions of al-Suqaylabiyah, while at least 95 of the jihadi groups were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s shelling, in addition to the killing of 86 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

And with the fall of more casualties, the death toll rises in the heaviest continuous escalation on its 21st day, to 442 people in the period since the morning of the 20th of April 2019, until the 11th of May 2019, they are 158 civilians including 29 children and 39 women, were killed in the Russian air bombardment and regime forces’ shelling on areas in Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, and Idlib, including 5 civilians casualties were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions on Aleppo city, al-Hadir town south of Aleppo, al-Khandeq village, and al-Suqaylabiyah town in Hama countryside, and 19 people were killed in the explosion of a truck loaded with high-explosive materials owned by the jihadi groups in Jisr al-Shughur city west of Idlib, and 113 of the jihadi groups and the factions were killed in attacks and clashes against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, and 152 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them were killed in attacks by the jihadi groups on several areas of the demilitarized area.

And during the period between the 15th of February 2019 and the 11th of May 2019, the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 818 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 396 civilians including 99 children under the age of eighteen and 97 woman over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 29 people including 6 children under the age of eighteen and 5 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 181 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 114 fighters of the “jihadis” and 241 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 1048 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 477 civilians including 131 children and 109 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 32 people including 6 children and 5 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 248 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 129 of the “Jihadi” fighters and 23 fighters of Jaysh al-Izza, who were killed in ambushes and clashes including a commander at least, they were killed in ambushes and attack by the regime forces in the northern countryside of Hama, and 323 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
