The demilitarized area of “Putin – Erdogan” witness the return of relative calm to the atmosphere of the 18th day of the most violent escalation

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the decrease of the aerial and ground bombardment in the “de-escalation” area on the afternoon of the 18th day of the most violent escalation, where it rose to 59 at least, the number of air raids carried out by regime’s warplanes targeting the countryside of Hama, Idlib, and Latakia since Friday morning, and they are 15 on Kabani area in Jabal al-Akrad, 5 on Kafr Zita north of Hama, 3 on the outskirts and vicinity of Khan Shaykhun, 3 on al-Ankawi, and 2 raids on each of Baraboo, Tremla, Mdaya, Hish, al-Hbit, outskirts of al-Faqea, Kafr Ain, and Karsa’a, also it rose to 31, the number of barrel bombs dropped by helicopters since this morning, they are 14 on Kabani, 12 on the clash areas in Sahl al-Ghab and Jabal Shashabo, 3 on al-Lataminah and its vicinity, 2 on Tremla, and the Syrian Observatory published hours ago that it monitored violent continuous clashes in fronts and areas of al-Hwaiz and Midan Ghazal in Jabal Shashabo and Sahl al-Ghab, between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, the Turkestanies, and the factions, accompanied by raids by regime’s warplanes on the clash areas, in conjunction with dropping more barrel bombs by the helicopters on the clash areas, also the Syrian Observatory documented more human casualties due to the continued shelling and battles, where it rose to at least 13, including a prominent officer who is a lieutenant colonel, the number of casualties of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them who were killed today, Friday, in Sahl al-Ghab and Jabal Shashabo, also it rose to 6, the number of casualties of the jihadi groups and factions who were killed in clashes and shelling in the same areas.

And with the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 472, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, and they are: 154 civilians including 28 children and 33 citizen women, and they are 33 including 7 female children and 9 women, another woman and two of her children, were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 25 including 7 women and a child girl were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 47 including 8 women, 8 children, and a member of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 29 people including 5 women and a child were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 20 citizens including 9 children and 3 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, while at least 168 of the jihadi groups were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s shelling, in addition to the killing of 150 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

And with the fall of more casualties, the death toll rises in the heaviest continuous escalation on its 28th day, to 625 people in the period since the morning of the 20th of April 2019, until the 17th of May 2019, they are 204 civilians including 42 children and 44 women, were killed in the Russian air bombardment and regime forces’ shelling on areas in Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, and Idlib, including 24 civilians casualties including 9 children and 4 citizen women were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions on Aleppo city, al-Hadir town south of Aleppo, al-Khandeq village, and al-Suqaylabiyah town in Hama countryside, and 19 people were killed in the explosion of a truck loaded with high-explosive materials owned by the jihadi groups in Jisr al-Shughur city west of Idlib, and 186 of the jihadi groups and the factions were killed in attacks and clashes against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, and 216 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them were killed in attacks by the jihadi groups on several areas of the demilitarized area.

And during the period between the 15th of February 2019 and the 15th of May 2019, the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until today, the 17th of May 2019, the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 1001 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 442 civilians including 112 children under the age of eighteen and 102 woman over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 48 people including 15 children under the age of eighteen and 9 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 254 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 158 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 305 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 1231 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 523 civilians including 144 children and 114 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 51 people including 15 children and 8 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 321 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 173 of the “Jihadi” fighters and 23 fighters of Jaysh al-Izza, who were killed in ambushes and clashes including a commander at least, they were killed in ambushes and attack by the regime forces in the northern countryside of Hama, and 387 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
