With presence of Sheikhs and tribe elders, SDF release more than 85 detainees on charges of “dealing with ISIS” in Deir Ezzor 11 days after a similar release
The Syrian Observatory learned that the Syria Democratic Forces released more of detainees, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory: the Syria Democratic Forces released more than 85 detainees on charges of “dealing with the Islamic State Organization” in Deir Ezzor, where the release took place in the presence of Sheikhs and tribe elders in the area as well as representatives of civic parties, and this release comes 11 days after a similar release, where the Syrian Observatory published on the 14th of May 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the Syria Democratic Forces have released tens of detainees in Deir Ezzor, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory: the SDF released more than 43 people, including a woman of who were arrested earlier on charges of “cooperating with the Islamic State Organization” in Deir Ezzor countryside, and this release comes after popular protests and claims through local community and clan members of the area to release their children, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 1st of February 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the internal security forces in the western sector of al-Raqqah countryside; have released tens of detainees from the area following the mediations by elders and dignitaries from the Arab clans present in the area, and the Syrian Observatory learned that the Internal Security forces released about 75 people of who took part in the protests in al-Mansoura town in the western countryside of al-Raqqah a few days ago, where the Syrian Observatory published that tens of the town’s people participated aftermath a member of Asayish killed a young man from al-Bo Khamis clan, while the internal security forces denied that he was killed under torture and said that he died of a heart attack, while the Syrian Observatory published on the 14th of July 2019 that a state of tension is prevailing Al-Raqqah city as a result of the detention of a number of citizen women and holding them in one of the security centers in Al-Raqqah, before releasing the most of them, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; about 25 citizen women with 7 of their children, were arrested while they were carrying out a sit-in in front of a prison in the area of Al-Sawami’ in the vicinity of Al-Raqqah city, demanding the release of their families of the members of Thowwar al-Raqqah Brigade, where this prison includes tens of detainees of the members of this Brigade, tens of whom were released in the past few days, but the forces presented in the vicinity of the prison requested the support of Asayish Forces which came and arrested 25 women of those who were located in the place, with 7 children who were with them, and detained them in one of their headquarters in the area, then, and after mediations by several parties, they released at least 18 women of them, while the others are still detained, and the families of the women who were detained confirmed that despite the presence of an American patrol near the place of detention, it did not interfered, where we in the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights call on the Syria Democratic Forces and Asayish Forces to release the rest of detained citizen women immediately, stop detaining those who have opposite opinion or thought, and to release all the political detainees and the prisoners of conscience detained in SDF prisons and detention centers.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 10th of January 2019 that v illages and towns in the Syria Democratic Forces-held areas in the eastern and the north-western countryside of Deir Ezzor as well as the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah, are witnessing tension accompanied by skirmishes between residents in these areas against former members in the “Islamic State” organization, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights from a number of reliable sources; the SDF released more than 400 members of the organization of Syrian nationalities, who come from Deir Ezzor and Al-Hasakah countryside, in which these members returned to the villages which they come from, after they were arrested for weeks to question them, after members of the organization intended to surrender to the SDF in the contact areas between them, the last of which was the surrender of more than 40 members of ISIS to the forces of “Al-Jazeera Storm” Operation, in late 2017, during the violent fighting which took place in the east of the Euphrates River, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where they were carried by vehicles of the SDF towards areas in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and the vehicles were watched while they were carrying them towards Al-Hasakah province through the north of Deir Ezzor.
