YPG and its loyal factions retake more than 215 villages in the countryside of the city Ayn al- Arab “Kobani”

Reliable sources informed SOHR that YPG, backed by the brigade of al- Raqqa rebels, Shams al- Shamal battalions and the brigade of al- Krad Front, could retake 215 villages at least in the south, east and west of the city of Ayn al- Arab “Kobani”, including 7 villages in the province of al- Raqqa and some hills. They also could seize 30 km from the international highway of Aleppo- al- Raqqa. Thus, YPG could seize more than 2200 km2 in the northern eastern countryside of Aleppo in the areas located in the east, south and west of Ayn al- Arab “Kobani” after violent clashes with IS militants started in 1/26/2015 and lasted for 3 months and 20 days. The clashes resulted in the death of 15 members of IS Organization as well as death of 2 fighters of YPG. YPG also arrested some Syrian IS militants .

 

US led coalition warplanes carried out some strikes against IS positions in al- Tlal area, which had been controlled by YPG supported the brigade of al- Raqqa rebels, Shams al- Shamal battalions and the brigade of al- Krad Front.
