The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

With intense air and ground shelling, the regime forces go deep for the first time since the heaviest escalation began in Idlib and control a village and a farm south of the city

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored violent clashes in al-Qassabiyyeh area in the southern countryside of Idlib, between the rebel factions and the jihadi groups against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, after the last attacked sites of the first in the area with an intense air and ground cover, where the Syrian Observatory learned that the regime forces were able to advance and control al-Qassabiyyeh  village and Jaata farm, amid attempts by factions to regain control of the village, where this is considered the first time the regime forces were able to go deep and control an area in Idlib since the start of the heaviest escalation, while the Syrian Observatory documented casualties against the backdrop of clashes and the aerial and ground bombardment, where at least 9 of the factions and the jihadi groups were killed, and 4 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them were killed, also it rose to 89, the number of raids carried out by regime’s warplanes since this morning on the “de-escalation” area, where they targeted Kabani area, al-Qassabiyyeh area, Khan Shaykhun, Kafr Owaid, Baraboo, Abdeen, al-Hbit, Maarrat al-Nu’man, Arinbeh, Tremla, Ma’aret Hurmah, and the outskirts of Hish in southern countryside of Idlib, and the towns of Kafr Zita and al-Lataminah in the northern countryside of Hama, also the helicopters dropped more barrel bombs on al-Naqir, al-Hbit, al-Rakaya, and al-Qassabiyyeh area, amid continuous rocket shelling targets areas in Jabal al-Akrad and the countryside of Hama and Idlib.

And with the fall of more casualties, it rose to at least 1043, the number of people who were killed since the 30th of April 2019, the date of start of the most violent escalation in terms of aerial and ground bombardment, shelling, and targeting since Putin – Erdogan agreement, until the 3rd of June 2019, and they are: 333 civilians including 78 children and 73 citizen women, and they are 48 including 15 children and 16 women, another woman and two of her children, were killed in Russian aerial bombardment on the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and 36 including 8 women and 4 children were killed in the fall of barrel bombs, and 175 including 38 women, 45 children, and a member of the rescue teams were killed in targeting by regime’s warplanes, also 52 people including 7 women and 4 children were killed in a ground shelling carried out by the regime forces, and 22 citizens including 10 children and 4 women were killed in shelling by the factions on al-Suqaylabiyah, while at least 412 of the jihadi groups were killed in the Russian airstrikes and the regime’s shelling, in addition to the killing of 298 members of the regime forces in targeting and shelling by jihadi groups and factions.

And with the fall of more casualties, the death toll rises in the  heaviest continuous escalation on its 44th day, to 1193 people in the period since the morning of the 20th of April 2019, until the 3rd of June 2019, they are 383 civilians including 92 children and 81 women, were killed in the Russian air bombardment and regime forces’ shelling on areas in Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, and Idlib, including 26 civilian casualties including 10 children and 5 citizen women were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions on Aleppo city, al-Hadir town south of Aleppo, al-Khandeq village, and al-Suqaylabiyah town in Hama countryside, and 19 people were killed in the explosion of a truck loaded with high-explosive materials owned by the jihadi groups in Jisr al-Shughur city west of Idlib, and 427 of the jihadi groups and the factions were killed in attacks and clashes against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, and 364 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them were killed in attacks by the jihadi groups on several areas of the demilitarized area.

And during the period between the 15th of February 2019; the date of the meeting of “Rouhani – Erdogan – Putin” until today, 3rd of June 2019, the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 1572 people in the Russian – Turkish truce areas, they are 621 civilians including 162 children under the age of eighteen and 137 women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the Russian aerial bombardment and the rocket shelling by the regime forces and the factions, and among the death toll of civilians there are 50 people including 16 children under the age of eighteen and 10 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 498 fighters were killed in different conditions within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 317 fighters of the “Jihadis” and 453 of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented since the start of the Russian – Turkish truce the death of 1801 people in areas of Erdogan – Putin agreement, they are: 701 civilians including 192 children and 149 women, were killed in shelling by the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, targeting, and bombardment by warplanes, and among them there are 52 people including 16 children and 8 women, were killed in the fall of shells launched by the factions, and 565 fighters were killed in deferent circumstances within the demilitarized area since Putin – Erdogan agreement, including 332 of the “Jihadi” fighters, and 535 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
