Syrian Air Force Intensifies Airstrikes On Terrorist Positions In Northern Lattakia

The Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) has intensified its aerial operations against terrorists in the northern Lattakia countryside.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), dozens of Syrian airstrikes targeted positions in the strategic town of Kabani and in its outskirt on May 29 and 30.

Kabani is occupied by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the al-Qaeda-affiliated Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) and so-called Ajnad al-Kavkaz (AK). Turkish-backed factions have very little presence around the town.

The terrorists launched several rocket attacks on the Russian Hmeimim airbase from Kabani. In order to put an end to these attacks, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) 4th Division launched a military operation to capture the town earlier this month.

So far, the army has secured very few positions south of Kabani. However, this may change in the upcoming few days, as the ongoing airstrikes indicate that a new ground attack is being prepared.
