The human tragedy continues in the east Euphrates area in the light of the continuous fires that devour citizens’ crops there, where the Syrian Observatory monitored the spread of fire to the villages of Raqqas, Shash, and Bir Arab in Tal Abyad countryside on the road to Ayn al-Arab (Kobani) city, where these fires need the potential of advanced countries to contribute in extinguishing them, also this area is considered the food stock of Syria of wheat and barley, economists confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the losses due to these fires exceed 90 billion Syrian pounds in the east of Euphrates area, after tens of thousands of dunums were burned in the few past days, and the Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented new fires erupted in the countryside of al-Hasaka province, where fires devoured large number of farmland within areas of Kortek , Metin, Darb Hassan, Qartal, Koshkar, Bir Habash, and the area between the cities of Kobani and Tal Abyad, and the villages of Jaddou’, Khirbet Asaad, Bwayr, Khrab Askar, al-Swidiyyeh, and Khirbet Belka in the countryside of al-Hasaka province, amid continuous attempts to extinguish them, where these fires come in the series of the largest and most growing fires ever in the area, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 11th of June 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that new fires broke out in the countryside of al-Hasaka province, where large number of agricultural lands were devoured in Amuda, Tal Hamis, Tal Brak, and farmlands near the old road of al-Hasakah, amid continuous attempts to extinguish them in the largest fire series ever seen in the area, where the Syrian Observatory published this morning that the fires that have devoured large areas of agricultural land in al-Hasaka countryside have been controlled, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory: the self-administration, the Kurdish Red Crescent, and the Syria Democratic Forces, with great participation of all the components of the citizens in al-Qahtaniyyeh area and its countryside in the Hasakah countryside after hours of continuous work, where the fire has devoured the agricultural land over large areas estimated to be more than 40000 dunums or about 70 percent of the total agricultural land in al-Qahtaniyyeh and its countryside, which is the biggest fire the area has ever seen, where the people who tried to extinguish it faced a great difficulty, because of its rapid expansion due to the wind, and in the same context, the Syrian Observatory learned that the fire devoured more than 800 dunums on Tuesday morning in Sanjaq Sadoun village in Amuda area in the countryside of Hasaka.
The Syrian Observatory published yesterday that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that fires devour a very large area of agricultural land east of Qamishli city in the countryside of al-Hasaka province, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory: fires broke out within an agricultural land reached about 40 km long, where the fires reached the villages of Babsi, Khshina, Tawakkol, Ala Qaws, and Alyan in al-Qameshly countryside, where the people are facing great difficulties in extinguish the flames, and sources of the Syrian Observatory reported that the Syria Democratic Forces asked the International Coalition to intervene to extinguish the fires, and the sources added that the area includes hundreds of oil wells, amid a tragedy in the area due to the burn of the agricultural lands of the citizens, and the Syrian Observatory published on the 8th of June 2019 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the Turkish border guards set fire to the Turkish – Syrian border at the opposite side of the Syrian Jazeera, and in the details monitored by the Syrian Observatory by video: setting the fire which was carried out by the Turkish border guards led to the spread of fire to the Syrian especially to the agricultural lands of al-Darbasiyah, which burned many agricultural crops of the citizens there, where firefighting teams arrived to the area but they find it extremely difficult to extinguish the fires; as a result of the targeting by the Turkish border guards for any person trying to approaching the Syrian – Turkish border, and the Syrian Observatory also learned that more than 600 dunums of agricultural land near al-Aziziyah village of Ras al-Ayn were eaten by heavy fires of the Turkish border guards on Friday, and in the same context, the Syrian Observatory monitored fires broke out in Bulbul area in Afrin countryside, Wadi Haj Hasanli, and Wadi Ma’sara between Tatara and Haj Hassan of Jandairis Township of Afrin countryside.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 24th of May 2019 that under the large activity of cells of the “Islamic State” Organization within the Syria Democratic Forces’ controlled areas east Euphrates area, the activity which consists of assassinations, shooting, targeting, IED and mine explosions, as well as suicide bombings and explosive belts, the organization is expanding its activity to another side away from the killings, where it targets the livelihood and property of citizens, by setting fires in farmland owned by civilians or linked to Syria Democratic Forces, where the Syrian Observatory monitored several operations of this context during the last few days, where cells of the “Islamic State” Organization burned hundreds of hectares of wheat in several agricultural lands in Markadah town and Majid village at al-Hasakah province, in addition to setting fire to more than 30000 hectares of agricultural land starting from al-Raqqah countryside until the northeastern countryside of Aleppo at the east Euphrates area, where the Syrian Observatory published a few days ago that Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored huge fires within the area between the countryside of al-Raqqah and the northeastern countryside of Aleppo in the east Euphrates area, where about 30000 hectares of land in that area were burned, also the fires took long hours to be extinguished despite the arrival of team of the Raqqah Fire department, However, most of them do not know how to extinguish fires delayed extinguishing the fires, according to a video the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained.
