Dozens of US military trucks head to Deir Ezzor

The U.S. military reportedly sent dozens of trucks filled with equipment to Syria’s Deir Ezzor Governorate this week, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

According to the SOHR report, hundreds of trucks carrying military and logistical equipment were transported to the territories under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Deir Ezzor Governorate.

The U.S. military trucks reportedly crossed into eastern Syria from the Simalka Crossing that links the country with neighboring Iraq.

The SOHR report added that a total of 1,115 U.S. military trucks have traveled to the SDF-held areas in Deir Ezzor since the start of the new year.

The Syrian Democratic Forces currently controls most of Deir Ezzor’s eastern region, including its vital oil fields that are located near the Iraqi border.
